Responsibilities:
- Act as a liaison between dynamic engineering team at OptiGrid that is designing a proprietary technology and Contract Manufacturing (CM), being responsible for clear communication and technical documentation between the two organizations
- Setting up a design rules and manufacturing processes for the printed circuit board assemblies, creating standards, performing DFM analysis on custom designed PCBA
- Being responsible for Design for Manufacturing processes and documentation, to have PCBAs optimized for manufacturing
- Review custom PCBA designs and assembly processes for manufacturability, and work with CMs on DfM feedback to make sure proposed design is optimized for manufacturing, meeting cost and quality
- Work with external vendors to enable the mass production of custom PCBAs, but also work with in house procurement team, to improve process efficiency and quality, as well as support quoting process
Skills required for this position:
- Experience with electronics and power circuit board designs (designed and built at least one board using Altium or similar tools)
Strong knowledge of industry specifications and standards for PCBA designs for power electronics applications- Experience with the design and manufacturing of analog/digital electronics
Experience with new product development and fast prototyping processesRequirements:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of hands-on experience performing DFM for PCB and PCBA (DFA/DFT is an asset)
- Strong knowledge and understanding on design rules for the PCBA designs and PCB manufacturing process, SMT, reflow conformal coating, etc.
Previous experience with automotive applications, battery chargers, grid interactive inverters, and familiarity with agency certification processes: UL, CSA, IEC, FCC, etc.
- Proven ability to work independently under high pressure and comfortable working in a dynamic environment
