Vernon, Indiana Provide the primary Engineering interface with suppliers in support of the fabrication of subcontracted parts and assemblies or outside materials processing operations. Primary Responsibilities:
  • Reviewing and interpreting customer technical specifications, drawings and other requirements, merging with internal requirements and developing scope-specific technical ordering packages for our outside service procurements.
  • Understanding and becoming expert on suppliers' production methods and capabilities.
  • Working closely with Purchasing to review quotations and participate in supplier selection and development activities.
  • Participating in supplier audits, surveillance of key operations at supplier facilities, and supporting efforts to de-risk the procurements.
  • Working with a team of subject matter experts to verify that the suppliers' processing methods and procedures are in compliance with all applicable technical and administrative requirements and support the development of compliant product.
  • Managing the assignment and inventory of free-issued material and other assets to support timely completion of work at the supplier.
  • Evaluating and supporting disposition of any discrepant material.
  • Reviewing supplier-generated procedures and certifications for compliance and performing electronic system transactions in SAP and other business systems to manage work, ensure material traceability and release acceptable material to subsequent fabrication operations.
  • Developing Bills of Material and participating in materials selection and drawing development exercises for new projects and assisting with the development of material cost and level-of-effort estimates in support of proposals.
  • Initial business travel to the NOG Barberton, Ohio facility for on-the-job training will be required.
Job Requirements:
  • Qualified candidates must possess a B.S. in Engineering. Mechanical or Industrial Engineering degrees are preferred.
  • Two or more years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment in a comparable industry is preferred.
  • Ability to travel to travel to the NOG facility in Barberton, Ohio for several weeks of on-the-job training.
  • A successful candidate, beyond having the technical acumen, will demonstrate: strong attention to detail, effective use of electronic systems and applications, agility to move between multiple ongoing projects and react appropriately to adjusting. priorities, an unwavering quality-oriented mindset, a productive working relationship with suppliers and teammates, the professionalism and communication skills to work under remote supervision and to seek needed guidance when necessary, and an ability to leverage team resources to achieve desired results.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with no dual citizenship, capable of receiving a DOE clearance.
  • Experience understanding and properly interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) on drawings, assessing/optimizing material fabrication processes and controls and mentoring suppliers towards delivering high-quality product is preferred.
  • Must be able to travel to supplier sites.
Benefits: The Manufacturing Engineer will work a 9/80 work week while receiving market leading pay, paid time off, paid winter holiday shutdown, educational refund plan, medical, dental, vision and service-based retirement contributions with additional 401k match. #LI-TC1 Pay: $77,000 - $112,000 The base salary range for this position in Indiana (US-IN) at the start of employment is expected to be between $77,000 and $112,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,' unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.
