Job Summary: This role will be responsible for through-hole soldering process development and improvement in a high volume, high mix automotive manufacturing setting. This incumbent will work alongside maintenance, quality and production colleagues to improve existing processes and define new processes where needed. You will be able to provide process expertise regarding process improvement techniques to achieve corporate objectives within the costs allowable.
- Provide hands on process engineering support for PCB assembly operations including wave solder processes
- Evaluate manufacturing problems and provide resolutions
- Develop line support personnel
- Develop Soldering processes for new products
- Pallet design
- Tooling design
- Support new product builds
- Analyze wave solder performance data and drive continuous improvements in defect rates, equipment uptime and cycle time
- Create and maintain wave solder profiles
- Other duties as assigned
RequirementsMinimum Qualifications:
- 2 year degree with 2+ years of experience supporting wave solder processes
- Self-directed and task-oriented
- Willing to work overtime as required
- Proven ability to lead project teams
- Experience with Microsoft Office Applications such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications:
- 4 year Engineering Degree from an ABET or ATMAE accredited program
- 5+ years experience supporting wave solder process with demonstrated record of driving process improvements
- 3 years of work experience in a high speed, Tier 1 automotive manufacturing environment
- Familiar with Project Management processes
