If you're ready to drive change and make history, apply now!What you'll doWithin the Manufacturing Engineering scope, Product Engineering evaluates, reports, and achieves manufacturability KPI's by consulting with R&D on optimal product design.Success is achieved by intimate knowledge of product design, production process and project management. This role is responsible for component level parts that will be mounted in General Assembly. You will report to the Manager, Body System Assembly at Production Planning.Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:Your goal is to improve the product, design the vehicles according to the needs of manufacturing and to enable stable and ergonomic processes that are feasible for high-volume manufacturingIdentify, decide, and implement technical requirements from manufacturing to influence product designCollaborate with manufacturing, quality, production control, and engineering to provide product design and product concepts according to the needs of General Assembly.Use CAD-Data-Analysis, Simulations and virtual tests to identify risks for high-volume manufacturingIdentify and implement ideas to improve exterior product design to ensure stable processes and minimal rework in series productionEnsure that all exterior products are designed to meet assembly requirements and product design is feasible for high-volume manufacturingTake responsibility for all communication between production planning assembly and the engineering department as a single point of contact for all exterior vehicle design related topicsUse cross departmental collaboration to meet and exceed company goals and objectives in the field of design for manufacturing.Coordinate activities within the team that outline and achieve project goalsProvide instruction and guidance about required techniques and regulationsLocation & Travel Expectations: The responsibilities of this role require attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly. This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Columbia, SC.
