Xylem is hiring for a Director, Manufacturing Excellence - Americas to be based ineither the US or Mexico. This role will be responsible for driving strategic manufacturing projects to advance industry 4.0 maturity, supporting the development and growth of the local manufacturing engineering teams and working with the sites to enhance and standardize manufacturing processes that support the company's overall success. Core Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach and coordinate the activities of Manufacturing Engineering local and Manufacturing Excellence regional team.
  • Develop a strategic vision utilizing advanced technologies to optimize and enhance efficiency, productivity, and sustainability of manufacturing processes.
  • Manage Industry 4.0 Deployment and Conversion Costs Optimization efforts.
  • Provide support on the implementation of new technology in manufacturing, methods, materials, and advance systems used to make the company's products.
  • Support the Global Industry 4.0 implementation roadmap.
  • Ensure all project needs are being met to achieve goals in the original set time frame, including securing additional resources, setting daily or weekly priorities for project team members, and communicating to all cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Support Operations global software implementation programs as needed.
  • Offer technical guidance on complex process control challenges and lead in developing optimal solutions.
  • Coordinate best practice sharing across the team to accelerate learning and adaptation of best practices.
  • Drive meaningful standardization across the manufacturing facilities and manufacturing engineering teams.
  • Work with leadership and site teams to fund and staff programs.
  • Guide Plant leadership teams to improve plant performance and optimize cash flow to support business growth by applying Manufacturing Excellence Methodologies.
  • Coordinate with PM and Engineering team on new products development and the manufacturing requirements.
  • Drive projects related to 80/20 initiative related to Manufacturing Operations. Education and/or Experience
    • 4-year college degree with a major in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
    • 10+ years' manufacturing systems experience.
    • Experience in Automation Engineering and/or Systems Engineering preferred.
    • Program/project management experience required.
    • Working knowledge and demonstrated application of Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
    • Ability and willingness for national and international travel up to 50%. Other Skills and Abilities Leadership
      • Ability to coach key skills including, but not limited to: project management, Root Cause Analysis techniques, Manufacturing Guidelines and Standards, Process Control, etc.
      • Ability to effectively manage project development and engineering teams to complete projects on time and within budget.
      • Ability to lead and function collaboratively in a team environment, while effectively communicating across various levels of the organization.
      • The position requires strong collaborative, communication and change management skills. Business Partnership
        • Work with businesses and leaders across the organization to proactively identify, prioritize, facilitate and lead management improvement initiatives.
        • Develop a close cooperation and full alignment with ISC team and Corporate/ISC initiatives and priorities. Behavioral Competencies

Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
