JOB SUMMARY

The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for all aspects of shop floor operations to include: throughput, equipment maintenance and operation, work instructions/procedures, quality, staffing/personnel issues, process control, cost control and avoidance, continuous improvement, safety, and schedule compliance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

* Design and implementation of 5S- Lean Manufacturing Support areas

* Design and develop a cross training plan for all areas in Manufacturing

* Works with Quality team to drive company expectations

* Use interdepartmental resources to solve complex problems

* Work with Engineers, Program Managers and Purchasing to provide the customer good quality products in a timely manner, while still maintaining the highest possible profit margin

* Assist process engineers with fine-tuning existing processes

* Continually seek ways to streamline manufacturing processes

* Provide leadership to all production employees

* Deal with confrontation in a tactful and positive manner

* Juggle multiple priorities

* Enforce all company policies and procedures

* Follow all ESD policies and procedures

* Interact with suppliers/customers, and others as needed

* Other duties as directed by management

OTHER FUNCTIONS

* Daily production scheduling and execution from entry point of the process to completing the product out the door to the customer and tracking issues afterwards, if any.

* Interface with customers as required and all other departments as needed in the US sites, Mexico, China, Vietnam, Netherlands, or any newly created facilities.

* Attends meetings as needed to support organization activity.

* Interfaces with customers as required.

* Performs other duties, as assigned, to achieve corporate, facility and departmental objectives.

SUPERVISION GIVEN/RECEIVED

This position reports to the VP and General Manager of the Fayetteville, AR Plant, and directly manages a staff of supervisors, leads, technicians, and other general plant employees. Directs staff in the performance of their duties to process customer orders from the start of the manufacturing process to its completion including shipment. Establishes, mentors, trains and grows an organization that effectively and efficiently meets customer and company requirements within strict deadlines and under high pressure situations. Leads cross-functional manufacturing team in the manufacture of customer contracts for a contract manufacturing facility with multiple complex projects going simultaneously. Mentors subordinates to learn and grow within the company.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

* Minimum 4-year college degree in a related field or scope, equivalent training or a combination of both college and professional training

* Minimum 5 years previous manufacturing experience

* Minimum 3 years' experience managing groups of professionals of supervisor or lead level

* Strong project management skills

* Effective presentation skills

* Ability to organize team(s) to work quickly and effectively towards hourly, daily, weekly, monthly and semi-annual and annual goals

* Proven ability to motivate others toward an end goal

* Strong computer skills working with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Viseo, PowerPoint, etc.)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Master's degree in a related field or scope

* Experience with electronic circuit board assembly

* Knowledge of components

* SMT/PWSC, or TECH experience

* Strategic thought processes

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee is regularly required to stand for prolonged periods, sit for prolonged periods, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, talk, hear and see. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, or reach with hands and arms. The environment is fast paced, time pressured and requires a high level of accuracy. The employee will regularly multi-task between projects be required to move throughout the office area or plant facility and effectively communicate to team members. The normal environment is quiet and typical of an open cubical setting with some areas that may be louder at times when in the plant.
