Job Description:

Beneva Group has recently partnered with a solar cell manufacturer to find their Manufacturing Manager as they launch their first US-based factory in Greenwood, SC. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all manufacturing aspects of a 24/7 production facility, including optimizing resources; collaborating with peer functions to deliver continuous improvement of operational standards; providing input on strategy formulation and execution; and engaging the operating teams across shifts to deliver sustainable growth and results.

This large plant is still in its launch phase, so you will help the leadership team continue to lay the groundwork for a successful manufacturing launch in early 2025. Once operations are running, you will initially oversee around 180 indirect reports across 4 shifts as well as supervisors from each shift.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead and ensure compliance with company and other regulatory requirements regarding Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality standards.
  • Develop and implement equipment reliability systems such as autonomous and preventive maintenance work methods and practices to sustain and improve uptime.
  • Develop and implement process control systems and best practices to reduce product and process variability.
  • Collaborate closely with peer group leaders to develop and train manufacturing team members on standard operating procedures and core skills. Observe and assess people's capability.
  • Deliver the shift, day, week, and monthly production plan in full adherence to prescribed manufacturing standards.
  • Improve material usage and labor efficiency variances by identifying and eliminating losses across the value streams.
  • Lead and support company's Operational Excellence program including coaching and training on company policies.
  • Support and actively participate in strategic initiatives and projects for continuous improvement and/or business growth.
  • Manage all aspects of production execution 24/7 analyzing by shift overall performance for effective and efficient daily direction setting.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in leading a production organization with automation equipment in a precision manufacturing environment
  • Process and Value Stream Startup management
  • Experience working in a greenfield or brownfield launch setting is highly preferred
  • Fundamental understanding of TPM (Total Productive Maintenance)
  • Project management, problem solving, and continuous improvement skills
  • Strong skills in communicating, influencing, and collaborating with others
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite
