Job Description:
Our client, a national manufacturer of oil and gas equipment, is seeking to employ a military veteran to manage their facility in Dayton. An ideal candidate should proficiently undertake the following tasks:The Manufacturing Manager will be integral to the site's leadership team and will be entrusted with supervising the Manufacturing Supervisors.Job responsibilities:Department management:- Provide leadership and guidance to the welding, fabrication, and CNC machining departments. Supervisors of these departments will report directly to the Manufacturing Manager.- Oversee day-to-day operations, including scheduling, production planning, and resource allocation to meet production targets. Drive urgency and align resources to ensure timely job completion to support final assembly.- Implement and sustain best practices for welding, fabrication, and CNC machining processes to optimize efficiency and minimize waste.Continuous improvement:- Initiate continuous improvement programs to enhance productivity, shorten lead time, reduce costs, and improve quality within the welding, fabrication, and CNC machining departments.- Lead and support process optimization projects, leveraging lean manufacturing principles and other improvement methodologies.Cross-functional collaboration:- Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering, procurement, customer service, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless coordination and alignment of production priorities.- Participate in cross-functional meetings and initiatives to drive organizational goals and objectives.Performance management:- Establish clear performance expectations for departmental staff and provide regular feedback and coaching to nurture professional development.- Conduct performance evaluations and address any performance issues promptly and constructively. Must be capable of holding teams accountable and not hesitant to engage in difficult conversations if required.Safety compliance:- Foster a culture of safety within the manufacturing departments by enforcing safety protocols and procedures.- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions as necessary.- Participate in the safety committee and take ownership of your respective area.Qualifications:- Demonstrated experience (5+ years) in a manufacturing leadership role, with specific expertise in welding, fabrication, and CNC machining processes.- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve results. Must exhibit resilience with a try until you succeed mentality.- Proficiency in project management, problem-solving, and decision-making.- Comfortable spending equal time (50%) on the shop floor and in the office.- Capable of reading and comprehending blueprints and engineering drawings.- Must be a quick learner with software programs as multiple different systems are utilized for various aspects of the business.Salary $85 - $120K57566 Job 57566
