Job Summary:
CSP is partnering with a leading manufacturer of high performance composite materials and products for the aerospace, transportation and other industries
The Manufacturing Manager has the responsibility to ensure the safe, efficient, and effective operation of the respective manufacturing unit. The position is responsible for all aspects of manufacturing and production processes. This requires overall coordination of manufacturing production, maintenance, technologies, health and safety, quality assurance, coaching, and development. Holds the responsibility to lead the team in its mission to meet or exceed all of our customer's expectations while meeting process metrics.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that the department complies with established policies, regulations, and company values for safety, hygiene, and environmental stewardship
- Manage for compliance of process quality systems to include: AS9100, ISO 9001, and NADCAP
- Lead continuous improvement, corrective action, and problem-solving activities.
- Develop capacity process analysis tools and lead efforts to ensure in-place capacity to meet weekly, monthly, and annual sales plans for your department
- Maintain monthly headcount analysis for all assigned areas - staffing and hiring
- Lead Continuous Improvement projects to increase labor efficiency, increase yield, and reduce scrap
- Understand, develop, and implement strategic objectives, capacity status, constraints, and needs for growth in support of department goals and provide organizational recommendations as required to accomplish these goals
- Responsible for all conversion KPIs such as efficiency, scrap, rework, productivity, line manning, and production output
- Create and manage an annual department budget that effectively manages overtime, supplies, and discretionary spending
- Coordinate with Maintenance, Engineering, and Quality to provide new equipment and processes for new projects, and review additions and updates to current in-house databases
- Works in a safe manner following all departmental and plant safety rules
Qualifications and Education:
- Bachelors degree in engineering or related field preferred but not required
- Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of education
- Five (5) years of increased manufacturing leadership experience required (aerospace, automotive industry preferred - chemical, adhesives, and web handling desired)
- Intermediate knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and chemical systems used in industrial settings
- ERP Manufacturing Platform experience
- Direct Profit & Loss responsibility
- Experience working with ISO 9000, Six Sigma, and KPI Lean Management techniques
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
