Job Description:

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Plans, directs, and controls the production operation for manufacturing delivery requirements, quality standards and within cost targets.

• Maintains effective planning and management of manufacturing operations to ensure that products are produced on time and consistent with quality standards.

• Ensures selection, development, and motivation of a competent operations team, organized effectively to ensure the maximum utilization of human resources.

• Responsible for the cleaning and maintenance scheduling of the Manufacturing area.

• Responsible for scheduling the manpower needed in every manufacturing area.

• Logistic planning and analysis of production lead times.

• Responsible for timekeeping system of production personnel.

• Attend daily production meetings.

• Make sure equipment is properly running and PMs are done.

• Hands on capability to help specify and monitor equipment fixtures jigs, and tools needed to optimize the manufacturing process.

• Responsible for enforcing SOPs.

• Reviews and modifies existing equipment and production methods to reduce manufacturing costs to improve operating efficiency.

• Ensures long-range planning and review of manufacturing operations to ensure that production meets the strategic goals and objectives of business.

• Develops and implements effective quality control programs to ensure that quality standards and objectives are met.

• Contributes to the short and long-range growth and profitability of the business unit.

• Contributes to the establishment and maintenance of company's image through vendor, customer and community contacts.

• Assumes responsibility for new product and/or process introduction.

• Adheres to the Company's Code of Conduct and Business Ethics Standards.

• Responsible for Manufacturing KPI's

• Works hand in hand with Planning and Packaging departments.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or Technical degree.

• 10 + years' experience managing teams of people in a high volume Nutraceutical/Pharmaceutical manufacturing plant

• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, continuous improvement methodologies and environment

• Bilingual (English and Spanish- required

• Strong communication skills

• Strong people skills

• Metrics reporting

• Ability to handle multiple tasks

• Experience using ERP and work order transaction systems to control shop floor scheduling and inventory.

• Ability to work under pressure
