BASIC FUNCTIONThe primary function of the Manufacturing Manager includes, but is not limited to, schedule preparation, pre-planning and resource forecasting for the manufacturing department. The functions of the Manufacturing Manager also include performance management of vendors and ensuring projects are completed according to project plans.The Manufacturing Manager will apply extensive knowledge of principles, theories, concepts and industry practices to plan, direct and coordinate the manufacturing design, integration, analysis and certification of company products and processes for manufacturing of complete systems, components and subsystems for a variety of customer needs.REPORTING RELATIONSHIPThe Manufacturing Manager reports to the Senior Manager.AUTHORITYThe Manufacturing Manager will be given the level of authority by their Senior Manager to perform assigned tasks and duties.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESThe principal duties and responsibilities of the Manufacturing Manager consist of, but are not limited to, the following:Team leadership and mentoringManufacturing best practices (Lean, Six Sigma, 5-S, Safety)Experience with ISO9000 and/or AS9100 quality management systemsCAD/CAM Software, preferably Solid WorksMaterial Requirements Planning softwareFinished part cost estimationGeometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing for finished parts and toolingIdentify optimal manufacturing equipment, tooling and fixturing for finished partsCreate and maintain detailed work instructions and other plant floor documentationTroubleshooting and determining causes of operating errors.Manage relationships with vendors of equipment, material, outside processes, and suppliesCollaboration with Sales, Design Engineers, Quality and Fulfillment teams on new opportunitiesPlans, schedules, and manages one or more manufacturing production processes.Incorporates organization-wide operational safety, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and cost control policies and programs into manufacturing processes.Monitors production metrics, respond to and resolve problems.Maximizes efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization.Determines the parts, equipment, and tools needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications.Directly manages approximately 10 staff.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCERequired:Bachelor's degree plus three years' supervisory or management experience of a manufacturing team.Desired:Bachelor's degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering.
