Job Description:

As the Manufacturing Manager at Greenlight, you'll play a key role in overseeing the production operations to ensure the consistent and efficient manufacturing of high-quality cannabis products. Leveraging your expertise in manufacturing processes, team leadership, and compliance standards, you'll drive operational excellence, optimize production workflows, and uphold product quality and safety standards. Your leadership and strategic vision will be instrumental in scaling our manufacturing operations to meet the growing demand and position Greenlight as a leader in the cannabis industry.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the manufacturing team, providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship to ensure high performance, accountability, and employee engagement.
  • Oversee all aspects of the manufacturing process, including formulation, packaging, and quality control, to meet production goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and safety protocols to ensure consistency, efficiency, and compliance with state regulations and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including cultivation, compliance, and quality assurance, to coordinate production schedules, raw material procurement, and inventory management.
  • Optimize production workflows and resource allocation to maximize productivity, minimize waste, and reduce operating costs while maintaining product quality and safety.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities for process optimization, automation, and technology adoption to increase efficiency and scalability.
  • Ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), sanitation standards, and quality control procedures to uphold product integrity and safety throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), production metrics, and operational performance data to track progress, identify trends, and drive operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with regulatory agencies, third-party auditors, and internal compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Knowledge, skills and abilities

Knowledge

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, operations management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in manufacturing management, preferably in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing principles, processes, and best practices, including lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and process optimization methodologies.

Skills

  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop high-performing teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of cannabis extraction techniques, formulation processes, and packaging requirements, with a focus on product quality, consistency, and safety.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards governing cannabis manufacturing, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues, develop solutions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with manufacturing software and systems for production planning, scheduling, and inventory management.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and protocols for manufacturing operations, including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
  • Understanding of equipment maintenance practices and reliability engineering principles to ensure uptime and operational efficiency.
  • Commitment to producing high-quality, compliant products that meet customer expectations and regulatory requirements.
