SFCC provides a high-quality, geographically, financially and emotionally accessible education to more than 5,000 students who range from traditional college-age students to adult learners.
The college offers associate of arts, associate of fine arts, associate of science and associate of applied science degrees, professional and skills certificates, and noncredit courses and programs, and workforce development training in a 14-county area in central Missouri with locations in Sedalia, Boonville, Clinton, Eldon, Lake of the Ozarks, Jefferson City, at Whiteman Air Force Base, and online.
Position Purpose:SFCC is strengthening connections between Central Missouri rural area high schools, the local community college, and the business sector to ensure more students are exposed to, prepared for and pursue jobs in Advanced Manufacturing. Through funding by the National Science Foundation, SFCC is building the Advanced Manufacturing Pipeline. Specifically, the initiative aims to 1) increase the capability of secondary school teachers to teach advanced manufacturing topics and 2) encourage persistence and completion of educational certificates in advanced manufacturing fields.
In collaboration with the Principal Investigator ofNSF ATE grant (award number DUE#2202182), the Pathways Specialist will serve as the primary liaison between K12 schools and post-secondary faculty. The specialist will also work with faculty and industry to develop scenarios for classroom projects.
Responsibilities and Duties
* Develop and document the framework for developing the education on the high school campuses.
* Outreach to local schools to promote awareness of the grant activities.
* Plan HS faculty professional development
* Ensure dual/concurrent enrollment agreements exist between k12 and community college
* Work with outreach staff to promote grant activities to the K-12 service area.
* Liaison with companies to provide meaningful programming for students and flexible volunteer opportunities for partners.
* Foster a strong network of K12 schools working with their local community college to promote advanced manufacturing
* Navigate the K12 educational resources, policies and procedures to assist participating high schools to maximize effective CTE programs that promote career pathways
* Troubleshoot areas of challenge that emerge between the college and high school or at either respective site
* Other duties as assigned

Recommended Qualifications
Education/Experience:
* BA/BS or Masters in Education or certifications in a related field
* Minimum three (3) years' experience in project management, teaching and/or administration of Career & Technical Education programs
