Be your own boss by creating your own career path and pushing your professional limits.General Summary The Manufacturing Process Engineer/Continuous Improvement oversees and implements improvements over all manufacturing processes through analysis, training of managers and floor personnel, and implementation of best practices. They identify inefficient manufacturing processes and work to eliminate them to increase output and decrease costs. This role will develop & communicate process standards and work to incorporate those processes across all FB plants. Position to be located in a Western Region Factory Built Construction Plant. Position will support all Factory Built locations, primarily in the Pacific North West / Western RegionPrincipal Duties and Responsibilities Analyzes current production processes and identifies and communicates improvement options Evaluates operations throughout the plant to identify areas of waste and opportunities for improvement and works with plant management to take corrective action Identifies strengths and weaknesses of FB locations in comparison to their sister plants for potential training visits to other locations. Develops, prioritizes, and implements solutions to reduce waste and improve performance. Documents improvements and assists in the development of standard work instructions. Teaches, coaches, and mentors all levels of employees in Factory Built manufacturing principles. Assist in implementation of equipment/manufacturing/training of new product processing. Trains employees to identify and eliminate waste. Develops and manages programs to foster employee involvement to promote a Continuous Improvement culture. Attends seminars, lectures, and training classes on Continuous Improvement and share gained knowledge with plant staff Staffs, develops and coaches the production management team, evaluates performance and initiates corrective action as required. Prepares regular and special reports as required. Performs other duties as required.Job SpecificationsKnowledge Required Bachelor's degree in business or related discipline, or equivalent experience is required. Minimum three to five years of experience in lean manufacturing environment Proficiency in the use of MS Excel/spreadsheets is required Working knowledge of 5s, Kanban, standardized workflow, value stream mapping, Kaizen, and visual environment/factory. Preferred experience and knowledge of UFP's organization and product linesSkills and abilities Proficiency in the use of the English language in reading, writing, and speaking Ability to successfully communicate with all organizational levels Ability to apply business math in business situations, to plan, organize, and prioritize work, and to effectively interact with others. Ability to be mobile in the work environment.
