Seeking an experienced Engineering and Project Management professional to lead manufacturing projects, focusing on design, prototyping, engineering documentation, estimating, and process improvement. The role involves providing technical expertise, collaborating with suppliers, and driving projects to completion while enhancing manufacturing productivity and cost-effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop project plans, including scope, schedule, and budget.
- Apply project management strategies to efficiently utilize resources.
- Select and manage contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Collaborate with internal teams (purchasing, estimating, customer service, shop).
- Oversee bidding, negotiate contracts, and ensure specifications are met.
- Monitor project expenses and ensure budget alignment.
- Enforce safety protocols and regulatory compliance.
- Research materials and processes to improve manufacturing.
- Organize and maintain engineering records.
- Document the design process and prepare detailed drawings.
- Analyze product performance and adapt to changing requirements.
- Manage supplier relationships and improve design/process feasibility.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Knowledge of mold fabrication and plastics products is helpful.
- 5-7 years of progressive project engineering experience.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar software.
- Familiarity with Material Flow and MRP/ERP Systems.
- Strong MS Office (including MS Project) and design software skills.
- Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements:
- Light work: Exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, grasp, and perform other physical tasks as needed.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive compensation ($80,000 - $110,000 annually based on experience).
