Summary of Position:

Team Leads are responsible for the smooth operation of manufacturing stations, including ongoing training and guidance. They prioritize work-orders in the absence of a Supervisor and assist in maintaining motivation, product quality and line productivity. If needed, a Team Lead can perform the duties of Manufacturing Technicians. This position reports to the Manufacturing Supervisor and Director of Production when appropriate.

Essential Functions and Duties:

  • Assign staff to workstations and reassign staff as needed to fill gaps.
  • Assist with Quarterly manufacturing supplies inventory count.
  • Assist with recording Nonconforming material records, help with root cause investigation and implementing of approved corrective actions.
  • Provide training and guidance, and answer work-flow questions on the lines.
  • Motivate staff to meet daily productivity targets while upholding product quality.
  • Check that calibrated instruments are available and in use.
  • Guide technicians when ambiguity occurs related to evaluating quality of work product to standards. Identify, classify and retain information from previous quality issues and apply knowledge and judgment in identifying new quality issues.
  • Alert Supervisor in the event of issue or procedural non-conformance and help with documentation.
  • Understand traceability requirements for materials and processes. Use Good Documentation Practices.
  • Validate records and identify errors or discrepancies to prevent product mix-ups.
  • Sufficient knowledge of processes to solve or troubleshoot routine equipment operation issues.
  • Identify unusual equipment performance and contact engineering to handle machine repair or malfunction issues.
  • Lead workstation clean-up as well as stocking of supplies for the next day.
  • Monitor stock on hand for workorders and notify if supply is low for the workplan.

Non-essential Functions and Duties:

  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).
  • 2+ years of effective written and verbal interpersonal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, organization, and presentation/communication skills.

Physical Attributes:

  • Work at a rapid pace doing repetitive tasks.
  • Stand for extended periods of time.
  • Regularly lift 35-50 lbs.
  • Wear synthetic gloves, eye, and toe protection.

Work Environment:

  • Work is performed in production areas and office environment.
  • The employee may occasionally be exposed to dust.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
  • The employee must be able to work in a fast-paced team environment.

Salary: $23 - $25/Hourly. The final pay for this position will vary based on geographic location and candidate experience relative to what the company reasonably anticipates for this position.
