The Manufacturing Supervisor will manage & schedule shop floor departments (CNC/Polish/Inspection/Cutter Grind) to achieve quality, delivery and profitability, follow company rules and regulations, and maintain the schedule provided by the Manufacturing Manager or Production Control Supervisor.Client DetailsThe client is a fifth-generation, privately held company specializing in the manufacture of precision components for the aerospace and energy industries. Dating its roots back to 1901, the client has over sixty years experience machining and polishing highly contoured compressor and turbine airfoils as well as other tight-tolerance products.The client possesses a wide range of advanced manufacturing capabilities supported by superior inspection methods, including state-of-the-art scanning CMMs and data collection techniques.Description* Ensure pre-kitting of jobs* Participates in creating and maintaining a setup reduction program.* Provide employee coaching, development, and training* Resolve employee issues through problem resolution and involving HR when necessary* Drive Continuous Improvement and Kaizen activity* Run quality clinics* Monitor employee's performance and evaluate their effectiveness in production* Implement and enforce safety protocols to create a safe work environment* Interfaces with Finance, Engineering, Quality or Production Control when problems are encountered* Daily:* Timecard Review* Track absenteeism and timekeeping* Handle shop floor employee issuesProfilePerformance appraisals (bi-annual and 90-day)Recruiting of shop floor employeesThe qualified candidate will have 10-15 years of experience in Aerospace or similar industry, a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field or equivalent work experience. In addition, the candidate will have been in a supervisory role for at least 5 years and must show work experience with increasing responsibility.
