Job Description:
REGENT is building the seaglider; the first electric flying machine that will transport commercial passengers. With a vehicle that never flies higher than a few meters off the water, we unlock the ability to fly twice as far as an electric aircraft, and certification by maritime authorities which will let us fly first passengers by mid-decade. We are backed by the world's best investors: the same investors who are behind SpaceX, Anduril, and Boom Supersonic, in addition to strategic investors like Lockheed Martin, Japan Airlines, and Hawaiian Airlines. We have over $9B in orders from some of the industry's largest operators and are hard at work getting our full-scale, human-carrying prototype on the water next year. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Manufacturing Supervisor to lead a team of technicians in the development of the seaglider, a groundbreaking wing-in-ground-effect vehicle that will transform regional coastal transportation. This role requires a leader who excels in managing a diverse team, optimizing build processes, and ensuring high standards of safety and quality. As the Manufacturing Supervisor, you will oversee a multi-disciplinary build team, driving innovation and operational excellence in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment. Roles and Responsibilities:
    • Supervise daily shop floor activities, including scheduling, workflow management, and resolution of nonconformance issues. Ensure that build targets and quality standards are consistently met.
    • Lead and manage a team of technicians, including recruiting, professional development, and performance management.
    • Manage the team's workload, balancing long-term projects with urgent requests. Adjust headcount and resources as needed to support demand and project requirements.
    • Maintain high standards of safety and product quality. Conduct regular audits and implement corrective actions as needed to ensure compliance with specifications and industry standards.
    • Identify training needs, develop training programs, and facilitate continuous technical growth within the team. Ensure technicians are appropriately skilled and prepared for their tasks.
    • Coordinate with the safety team to conduct job hazard assessments, develop safety protocols, and ensure adherence to safety regulations and best practices.
    • Work closely with engineering teams to provide feedback on design for manufacturability improvements.
    • Oversee the maintenance and calibration of shop floor equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety and operational standards.
    • Monitor labor hours, overtime, and attendance and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, on-time delivery, and productivity.
    • Provide data and reporting to support departmental metrics, track progress, and identify areas for improvement.
    • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to align objectives and expectations.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
    • 10+ years of experience in build and assembly, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role
    • Proven track record in leading teams and managing performance in a fast-paced manufacturing or aerospace environment
    • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including electronics and structural assembly
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with engineering and manufacturing teams
    • Proficiency with standard hand tools and measuring devices such as multimeter, calipers, crimp tools
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software tools
    • Ability to obtain aTWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential)
Desired Qualifications & Skills:
    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, STEM discipline, or related field, or equivalent professional experience in a manufacturing/testing environment
    • Experience with test and safety practices for low voltage and high voltage systems
    • Experience with electricalsystem integration and hardware sub-assemblies
    • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, kaizen, and failure mode effects analysis
    • Experience with databases and data management
    • Experience navigating CAD models in Siemens NX or a similar CAD system
    • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing work assignments and environments
Additional Requirements:
    • Must be able to work extended hours, including weekends, and be flexible with shift work (1st or 2nd shift)
    • Willingness to travel up to 10% for short and extended trips as needed
    • Physical ability to perform job duties, including standing or sitting for extended periods and lifting up to 25 lbs
