- This position reports to the Supervisor and will assist them in the day-to-day operation of the section.
- The Team Leader position is a position of opportunity, where you can highlight the skills you currently possess and improve your management skill set.
- ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for QCD (Quality, Cost, & Delivery) of the smallest unit at the production floor (The line(s) to which they are assigned).
- Responsible for ensuring his/her assigned team members are following the standardized work at all times.
- Responsible for giving on-the-spot correctional instruction when anyone is found not following standardized work methods.
- Responsible for making entries and revisions to the worksheets assigned to his/her lines.
- Responsible for promptly reporting any abnormality that occurs in his/her area of responsibility to his/her Supervisor.
- Check and prepare T/M daily work (Standardize work). Check safety point all areas and 5's status. Control off line repairs, gather and analyze defect daily.
- Fill in for team member (vacation, etc). Check check sheet, do first product check. Discuss NG parts from MFG and Shipping inspection. Implement abnormal occurrence plan if necessary.
- Keep Supervisor informed of line(s) status Staying close to your assigned line(s) to ensure availability to team for quality, productivity, & personnel issues Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
- Will perform other reasonably related tasks within the Company as required by the Supervisor or Management.
- LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Will assist the Supervisor in the daily leadership of their line(s) in the following capacity: Ensuring team members return from planned breaks on time, Ensuring team members communicate respectfully w/ each other, Ensuring team members are performing standard work, Ensuring line begins production on time, Ensuring line does not stop before planned stop time, Provide feedback to Supervisor concerning team member performance (efficiency, quality, behavior) KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Must be able to work as part of a team. This includes assisting other Team Leaders and Supervisors as needed.
- Must be responsible and have good attendance. Must be familiar with AEIL production concepts (Three point set, Toyota Production System, Value-added) and quality policy.
- Ability to work shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed. Ability to lead by example, motivate and supervise others. Ability to interact well with coworkers. Ability to understand, follow and implement posted work rules and company procedures. Ability to give and receive constructive criticism from/to both team members and supervision.
- QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- High school diploma or GED required. Previous lead or supervisory experience desired. The Team Leader is expected to maintain a positive attitude and always be respectful towards team members, other Team Leaders, and management. The Team Leader is also expected to approach AEIL policies and procedures in the same manner. The Team Leader is required to be adaptable, to accept and promote changes to others in a positive manner while striving for continuous improvement. The Team Leader is expected to continuously seek out training and accept opportunities to improve their skills.
