Russell Tobin is seeking a Manufacturing Technician for a leading research and development institute focused on helping athletes of all levels and abilities to achieve their sport goals.

Job Type: Contract

Est. Start Date: October 2024

Length: 4 – 5 Months

Hours: 40 hours/week, 8 hours/day. OT likely - candidates will need to be open to potential OT over the weekend, or longer work days during the week

Pay Rate: $22.00 - $26.67 per hour

Overview:

The Rapid Additive Manufacturing Lab is critical for footwear concepts that drives product creation and decision-making at Company. We do everything from prototyping new designs, developing new 3D printing techniques, testing new materials and technologies to producing one-of-a-kind products for Company's most high-profile product lines. Our team is a vital component in developing the future of Company footwear. We're looking for a Lead Rapid Additive Manufacturing Engineering Technician to be part of our Bowerman Footwear Lab Rapid Additive Manufacturing team at Company's World Headquarters.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

As a Lead Rapid Additive Technician, you will be an essential member of the Rapid Additive Manufacturing team. Critical to supporting the overall strategy of the Footwear Lab. In this role, you will be relied upon to help to accelerate our current manufacturing processes, challenges, quality, and tools. This will include:

  • Support the labs daily post process operation gain experience on multiple 3D printing technologies (SLS, SDM, FDM, and Objet) this includes:
  • Understand the pro & cons of each technology, Why and when we use them and how they are informing faster decision for Company footwear.
  • Support daily post process operations to break out parts per technology to deliver requests to our stakeholders.
  • Learn to be a technical expert maintaining, cleaning and preparing each machine technology to be print ready.
  • Maintain lab raw materials inventory and reorder new materials, partnering with the BFL Materials team.
  • Test SOPs establish by RAM Engineers and Specialists, providing suggestions to improve SOPs
  • Safely operating all department machines, observing all personal protective equipment requirements and practices
  • Learn the digital component to intakes requests, creates builds, and notifies requestors.
  • Cultivate an understanding of additive manufacturing that focus to accelerate product performance, problem solving production quality and speed to market.
  • Implement tasks with flexibility, and the appropriate sense of urgency through changing timelines, projects and deadlines

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

  • You will work cross-functionally and collaborate with Additive Engineers and Specialist, Conceptors, Materials, and Maintenance to explore, develop, and deliver high quality Footwear Prototypes in the BFL.
  • You will be interacting with partners in Company's Global Footwear, Innovation, and Dimension teams to create Performance, Lifestyle, and sample footwear models.

Requirements:

  • Associates or bachelor's degree in Engineering, Additive Manufacturing Technology, or related technical field and/or 3D printing certification would also work
  • 2+ years relevant work experience in 3D additive manufacturing or related field and industry; must have exposure to manufacturing standards & industrial practices (i.e. CNC machinist)
  • Thrive in fast-paced manufacturing environment; familiarity working multiple 3D printing platforms (SLS, SDM, FDM, and Objet).
  • Effective oral and written communication, basic project management
  • Experience in engineering and/or manufacturing in a high-volume production environment creating high value products
  • Passion for making, detail-oriented, problem-solving skills, and comfort operating with some ambiguity
  • Ability to drive collaboration and communication within a complex group
