Job Description:
Job Title: Manufacturing Test Technician (AOI/AXI)Job Overview:The Manufacturing Test Technician manages AOI/AXI functions, maintains, repairs, and troubleshoots test equipment and PCBa, and supports engineers and production operators with equipment training, data collection, and system evaluations.Reports to Manufacturing Test Engineer and is located in Newark, CA.Primary Job Responsibilities:Perform all AOI/5DX/AXI functions, including programming and scanning productsReview AOI/5DX/AXI inspection for accurate, consistent detection of component placement and solder joint defectsWork in close collaboration with the processing and engineering teams to improve visual defect yields and resolve processing issuesResolve program-related issues as needed, including assisting off-shift Machine SupportResponsible for the entire AOI/5DX/AXI operation/line support activitiesSupport and maintain test handlers, troubleshooting AOI, AXI, and 5DX machines whenever necessary to support productionAssist superior to carry out various studies for quality improvement, program, and cycle time optimization for AOI/AXI/5DX operation.Generate and fine-tune AOI/AXI/5DX NPI and sustaining program with acceptable false call rateGenerate/duplicate and fine-tune AOI/AXI/5DX NPI and sustaining program upon ECO/Manufacturing DeviationSupport production line conversion and tester setup such as installing new fixtures, loading the correct test program, verifying and releasing the tester to productionAssist engineers in data collection and engineering evaluationsProvide guidance and training to production operators on equipment buy-off and safetyCommunicate defects to responsible personnelInspect populated PCBs and identify component misplacement and solder defects to IPC-A-610 standards using a microscopeResponsible for daily/shiftily yield, efficiency, and effectiveness reportSupport improvement initiatives and participates actively to improve work environment (5S)Perform regularly scheduled preventative and unscheduled emergency repairs during operation/service of production equipmentManage spare parts control and maintenanceProvide test support and tester preventive maintenance and calibration activitiesDiagnose technical equipment problems, replace and/or repair parts, test and make adjustments; troubleshoot equipment issues and fault correctionsOther tasks and responsibilities as assignedKey Job Requirements and Qualifications:Minimum 2 years of experience in test equipment basic operation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of test equipmentCompletion of Associate Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering field or equivalent experienceExperience in AOI, AXI, 5DX, Flying Probe, and programming machinesAbility to read electrical and electronic schematic diagrams and blueprintsKnowledge of safety requirements when performing repair and troubleshooting of equipmentGood verbal and written communication skills; ability to write instructionsAnalytical and troubleshooting skills and experienceProficient with basic applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel.Able to multi-task and/or willing to take on additional assignmentsAdapts to changes (work plan, priority, and management decision) in the work environmentCompetent in required job knowledge and skills to perform assigned tasksAble to apply new work requirements with minimal supervisionAble to learn/develop new job knowledge or requirements quickly and to contribute at an effective levelConsistently completes assignments or work requirements on time without compromising on qualityAble to work cooperatively in a team & cross-functional team(s) as neededOpenly and proactively shares information#J-18808-Ljbffr
