Manufacturing Tool Room5800 Industrial Ave, Loves Park, IL 61111IL180 Manufacturing FacilityFull-time Shift(s): MON TUE WED THU 2:00pm - 11:30pmFRI 2:00pm - 6:00pmMON TUE WED THU FRI 6:00am - 2:30pmOVERVIEW:Working as Full-time Manufacturing Tool Room-Carbide Die Finisher/Tool Crib Machinist, you will be responsible for making, altering and repairing a wide range of carbide dies and integrated parts generally for use on heading machines.RESPONSIBILITIES:The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:o Planning and performing a variety of roughing out, boring, facing, turning, lapping, finishing and grinding operations to make, alter and repair a wide range of carbide dies and integrated parts generally for use on heading machineso Fabricating special tools for the Research and Development department occasionallyo Setting up and operating bench lathe for precise and difficult machining using diamond, diamond dust and paste or other abrasive materialso Selecting, installing and adjusting tool compounds and tail stock and making necessary brass arbors and lapso Checking work with fixed and adjustable measuring instruments to maintain very close tolerances and making necessary adjustments to ensure conformance with specificationso Instructing and/or assisting employees and other operators as neededo Following all safety rules and regulationsREQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:o 18 years of age or older, due to the nature of worko Prior experience working with machinery and toolingo Excellent written and oral communication skillso Proficient using Microsoft Office Suiteo Demonstrate an excellent safety recordo Read and interpret written instructionso Demonstrate basic math skills including decimals and fractionso Desire to continuously improve manufacturing processeso Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilitieso Work independently as well as in a team environmento Demonstrate strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skillso Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environmento Demonstrate strong attention to detail and qualityo Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamworko Lift, slide, carry and lower packages that typically weigh 25lbs-50lbs and may weigh up to 100lbso Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:o Prior experience working with carbideABOUT US:Since 1967 Fastenal has grown as a distributor of industrial and construction supplies from a single branch to a Fortune 500 company with over 3,000 servicing locations, each providing tailored local inventory and personal service for our customers.
