About this Position:

Lead the Department Process Group. Responsible for Operation Standards accuracy, control, and compliance for all models built in the department. Identify opportunities to simplify processes, reduce loss, and increase process efficiency. Lead special projects including but not limited to

* Production Volume change planning and implementation.

* Business Plan activity and scheduled manpower reductions.

* New equipment or procedure introduction to process.

* Regional or Global study requests for benchmarking, standardization, etc.

Responsibilities include:

* Manpower Management - Manage the Department Manpower Budget. Responsible for ensuring actual Direct Process Coverage needed for production (PDDA/MGCS) matches the budgeted plan (SAP) and leads activity to keep reductions on schedule. Develop and maintain tracking/reporting to accurately communicate manpower utilization (department, plant, region, or global Honda level). Identify and resolve abnormalities in Process alignment. Manage in-house sub-assembly capacity- oversee required hours versus demand- and respond to Production Schedule changes. Establish model rotations and Production Constraints with Production Control.

* Problem Resolution - Receive, prioritize, and assign Safety/Environmental/Quality/ Delivery/Cost/Morale process change requests to Process Staff. Advocate for solutions in the best interests of Honda and the department. Track and support timely completion.

* Project Management - Analyze data, identify improvement opportunities, theme up targets, establish action plans, and create teams within Process Group to accomplish targets. Seek opportunities for characteristic improvements. Propose/evaluate new technology and represent the voice of the associate. Plan process reductions for Business Plan. Lead the planning and execution of process reductions and all other Process Business Plan Themes. Communicate and work with plant/department team members, bringing technical expertise and knowledge to projects. Provide appropriate customer communication and support.

* Systems Owner - Responsible for overseeing all preventative maintenance to ensure Process Data is accurate for downstream systems (RPX, GCCS, MDRS, GPCS). Ensure Bill of Material Target quantities are consumed, and delivery locations are correct. Ensure Process Change Form (PCF) and Process Change Request (PCR) compliance and completion. Ensure data inputs meet standardization requirements. Ensure Plant AutoCAD is maintained and up to date.

* Associate Development - Ensure Process staff has the correct level of training per Honda career level and department requirements. Utilize formal training, track On the Job Training, and coordinate activity to close associate knowledge gaps. Mentor to ensure technical knowledge of associates meets requirements to be successful.

* Budget Management - Maintain team budget for expense. Set and maintain annual overtime budget for Process staff. Fill open positions and stay within budget set by Department Leadership. Oversee Capital Investment projects driven by Process Group. Ensuring projects stay on schedule and serve the intended purpose. Budget responsibilities include formulating requests, tracking expenditures, and adjusting budgets to address business needs

Who we are seeking:

Required Work Experience:

* 8+ years of related work experience

Required Education:

* Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, related discipline, or equivalent experience

Desired skills:

* Knowledge/Experience Required: Strong subject matter knowledge of industrial engineering tools (excel, MOST, manpower efficiency) and best practices for automobile assembly. Peripheral knowledge of process contribution to production metrics including overall associate safety, product quality, delivery capability, cost/scrap impact, and process complexity/morale.

* Knowledge/Experience Preferred: Project leadership experience. People leadership experience. Operation Standard Best Practices. PDDA, Process Quality Control Tables (PQCT's), MQS/FASP, OQ Flow and GPACV, Time Studies, MOST, Cycle Time Bar Chats, Process Balancing, Idea Process Design, Process Trials and control, Microsoft Suite, New Model Flow understanding, 5S, Delivery Foot-print layout, AutoCAD, Part Number/Section/Item understanding, Delivery Packaging, Parts Design Change Flow, Process Constraints, Net Loss Codes/categorization, Standard Work Areas, Process Change Form flow, Process Change Request Flow, North American Ergonomic Standards.

* Skills Required: Effective oral and written communication and presentation skills; customer focus (building productive relationships); Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and AutoCAD capabilities.

* Demonstrated Abilities: Effective communication of ideas to gain consensus from individuals or teams. Technical proficiency with expertise on some of the topics within area of expertise. Balancing multiple projects simultaneously. Comprehending technical drawings and specifications. Planning and executing special projects and reporting. Working well in a collaborative environment.

* Honda Factors: Ability to balance the wants / needs of the customer with IPU operational requirements. Knowledge of Honda project flow, budgeting, and manpower/cost reporting. Project tracking and reporting for PDCA and Nariyuki development.

* Willingness to travel for benchmarking or business planning events

* Ability to work overtime, as needed, to complete tasks

* Work all appropriate weekends/shutdowns to manage projects and cover operational needs
