Dock MasterFull-Time Wednesday through Sunday, flexible/adaptable schedule for special events and circumstances. The Dock Master plays a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the marina facilities, including sheds, piers, and harbors. This individual will assist in both administrative and maintenance tasks, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for members, staff, and contractors. The role requires a combination of physical labor, technical knowledge, and exceptional customer service skills.
- Assist in the daily management and operation of the sheds, piers, and harbors at Lakewood Yacht Club.
- Perform periodic inspections of marina equipment, docks, and boats to identify issues such as inadequate dock lines or damaged facilities, and take corrective action as needed.
- Support other departments as required, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork.
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs, including basic plumbing and electrical work, to ensure marina facilities are functioning properly.
- Maintain and clean the club's pool, including monitoring chemical levels to ensure safe usage.
- Assist at the fuel dock in the fueling of member boats.
- Perform monthly electric meter readings for the marina and record results accurately.
- Respond to emergency situations and urgent maintenance requests promptly.
- Coordinate and maintain accurate records related to marina operations, including maintenance logs, inspections, and equipment usage.
- Work under varied conditions, including office settings, outdoor environments, and marina facilities. Be prepared to work in various weather conditions and on-call for emergencies as needed.
- Interact effectively and professionally with club members, contractors, and staff to provide outstanding service and maintain a positive atmosphere.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of boating, marina operations, and dock maintenance is preferred.
- Basic experience in plumbing and electrical repairs is strongly desired.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to deal effectively and courteously with members, contractors, and staff.
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Self-motivated, dependable, and adaptable to changing schedules and priorities.
