Position Type: High School TeachingDate Posted: 6/21/2024Location: DistrictDescription: JROTC Instructor for the Marine Corps JROTC Program Job Summary: The position is the Marine Instructor for the Marine Corps JROTC Program at Abraham Clark High School for the 2024-2025 School Year. Qualifications:
- Administer and manage the JROTC program effectively according to law, regulations, policies, and principles in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding between the Marine Corps and Roselle Public Schools.
- Serves as the Chairman of the Department of Leadership.
- Provides comprehensive educational instruction to students enrolled in the JROTC program.
- Assesses and documents student leadership skills and JROTC academic skills.
- Actively recruit students to join JROTC.
- Maintain arms (inoperative) and supply facilities in strict compliance with Marine Corp security regulations.
- Assist in the review, organization, and implementation of all technical data required to develop a military curriculum.
- Perform the duties of a classroom teacher (JROTC curriculum).
- Comply to the letter with Marine Corp and school district safety guidelines in all instances when instructing, supervising, monitoring, accompanying, or escorting cadets.
- Conduct a public affairs program directed at school and community to further enhance understanding of the JROTC program.
- Develops and implements instructional lesson plans utilizing the JROTC lesson plans and curriculum.
- Complies with the requirements outlined in the annual JROTC Curriculum Implementation Plan.
- Performs administrative and logistical tasks related to JROTC program management.
- NJ DOE Certification Required.
- Marine Instructors must be retired Marine Staff NCOs with a current certification from the Commanding General TECOM.
- Marine Instructors normally manage the administrative and supply requirements of the unit in addition to their teaching responsibilities.
- The MI functions as a regular faculty member, working with the SMI, but may also work with other school officials, faculty members, as well as community leaders and parents to maintain and strengthen the program.
- MCJROTC Instructors may serve on committees or performing other routine duties that are regularly rotated among faculty members. Because of their duties, MCJROTC Instructors are required to be in good physical condition and able to demonstrate physical training techniques and supervise cadet activities.
