Our Function The Market Data and Commission Management Analyst supports the Market Data and Research Service (MDS) procurement, soft dollar commission management and Broker Vote functions. This includes a high degree of interaction with internal senior management, investment staff and trading, as well as all key 3rd party relationships (brokers, providers, etc.). This individual will be able to adapt to a changing role in a dynamic environment as the business requirements demand, including the assumption of cross departmental project roles and Finance related tasks. Your Impact Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Support the MDS procurement and analysis function in partnership with Prudential MDS
    • Support the Firm for all vendor MDS requirements
    • Contract analysis, negotiation and administration
    • Invoice review and processing, including coding for Accounts Payable
    • Support financial accrual and forecasting process
    • Responsible for tracking MDS spend versus budget/plan
    • Manage key vendor service provider relationships
  • Support the Soft Dollar Commission Management (SDCM) function
    • Manage the administration of the quarterly Broker Vote (BV)
    • Perform Third-Party Soft Dollar and CCA/CSA responsibilities including:
      • Instruction of invoice payments
      • Management of third party soft dollar budgets
      • Working with the Soft Dollar Group to develop methodologies for 'mixed-use' requests
      • Provide real-time reporting to trading desks on budgets and commissions
      • Support functional areas (Trading, Operations, Compliance, Investor Services, etc.) on all SDCM requirements
      • reporting for front office and governance support groups
      • Review and onboarding for new vendors / third party providers
      • Annual review of vendor & third party services
      • Manage trade reconciliations in partnership with CSA custodial aggregation vendor (Instinet)
    • Responsible for the aggregation, production, and translation of sophisticated reporting related to all MDS, SDCM, and BV functions
    • Provide project management team support on firm initiatives that require MDS and SDCM subject matter expertise
    • Support the fulfillment of client reporting requests - 15c, RFP, DDQ, etc.
Your Required Skills Your required skills must include:
  • BA/BS preferably in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Technology or related fields
  • Financial Services experience a must, Buy-side preferred
  • At least 3+ years relevant experience within Market Data Services, Middle/Back Office, or Commission Management
  • Previous experience interacting with and supporting Trading and/or Senior Investment Professionals is required
  • Understanding of equity trade life cycle is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, compile and present relevant complex data sets is required
  • Experience working with project management function is preferred
  • Capable of developing innovative solutions to complex problems with marginal supervision is preferred
  • Advanced level of MS Exceland general competency with Word and PowerPoint are required;
  • General understanding of MDS products/services is strongly preferred
  • General understanding of Soft Dollars, SEC Rule 28e and its application is strongly preferred

Our hybrid work model provides employees with the flexibility to work remotely 2 days a week. The base salary range for this role is $130,000 - $150,000. Individual salaries for this role may vary based on various factors including but not limited to, years of experience, range in corporate level, candidate skills, and geographic location. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including but not limited to, individual and organizational performance.
