Market Research Manager Office of Strategic Enrollment Management Stateside, Exempt, Grade 3.3 Location: Hybrid (2-3 Days in Office, Adelphi, MD) The Market Research Manager plays a critical role in supporting the Product Management function at UMGC through market analysis and regular deliverables, providing key insights to support decision intelligence for portfolio management. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience performing primary and secondary research on industry trends and market participants, an entrepreneurial approach to generating and creating value and impact, an appreciation for a higher education environment, and strong project management and writing skills. This position will interact with all levels of the company, including senior level managers, technical SMEs, and analysts and partnership with outside firms, analytics team, and student research team SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
  • Conduct comprehensive research and analysis of market and competitive trends, and present objective, meaningful insights in concise and compelling ways
  • Manage integrated product and market intelligence capability, including internal communication, monthly and annual deliverables, and market research library.
  • Collaborating with Director of Product Management and other stakeholders, develop a market research agenda, prioritizing research queues with subscription services.
  • Lead and support qualitative and quantitative primary market research projects.
  • Develop monthly and annual deliverables for competitive tracking and assessment and macrotrend analysis to support product review and new product development.
  • Generate market research reports and conduct information gathering and inventorying projects.
  • Maintain library of market research reports on key subject matter including adult learner and military segments
  • Utilize 3rd party research platforms, databases, and dashboards to create summary reports
  • Create and deliver presentations to communicate data-driven findings and objective insights to team members and stakeholders.
  • Analyze and manipulate datasets to derive findings and insights.
  • Manage multiple projects and timelines.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Market Research, or related field
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of market / competitive intelligence and research project management experience
  • Primary and secondary market research experience
  • Experience preparing and delivering high-quality presentations, working knowledge of data sources to gather intelligence
KNOWLDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Knowledge and application of qualitative and quantitative methods
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to approach complex problems and develop solutions
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills (including leveraging data visualization) to effectively communicate complex topics
  • Ability to lead and influence others in a matrixed operating environment
  • Collaboration skills and ability to form and maintain cross-functional partnerships
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Proven ability to work with SMEs, Managers and present to Executives
  • An understanding of and appreciation for working in the public interest
  • Advanced skills in Power Point, Word, and Excel, including pivot tables
  • Exceptional written communications skills
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Primary research studies
  • Data analysis - number crunching
  • Creation of data visualizations, infographics, and dashboards
  • Knowledge of IPEDS, CIP taxonomy, higher education research resources and vendors
  • Proficient in Power BI

Hiring Range: $110,000.00 - $125,000.00
