Marketing and Media Coordinator
Reporting directly to the Director of Communications and Marketing, the Marketing and Media Coordinator collaborates to develop marketing initiatives, campaigns, and overall digital marketing strategy for social media, website, event collateral, and email marketing efforts. The Coordinator will identify and implement tactics to increase audience growth and engagement, integrate digital platforms with new and existing communications and marketing efforts, and ensure the use of high-quality visual assets in all digital communications.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS
• Craft engaging content for marketing materials across various platforms.
• Create graphics for diverse marketing purposes.
• Collaborate on and create video and digital media content production.
• Support membership marketing initiatives to ensure they are timely and implemented and executed effectively.
• Create and implement task timelines and progress reports.
• Develop captivating email content encompassing copywriting, design elements, and multimedia assets, aligning seamlessly with brand aesthetics and audience preferences.
• Utilize email automation tool (Constant Contact/MailChimp) to orchestrate triggered and drip campaigns, tailoring messaging to customer behavior, personas, lifecycle stages, and segmentation.
• Maintain accurate and targeted email marketing lists within the Association's AMS.
• Work with program leads to establish and maintain marketing/content calendars and meet deadlines.
• Adhere strictly to email marketing regulations (such as CAN-SPAM and GDPR) and industry best practices to safeguard sender reputation and optimize deliverability.
• Review and edit materials, as needed, to ensure clarity, accuracy, alignment with brand, and appropriateness for intended audiences.
• Print Materials creation and fulfillment for all of Houston BOMA's events and educational programming.
• Collaborate on Market Research reports with the Director of Communications and Marketing, overseeing timely data collection and report creation.
• Coordinate and participate in various events (Annual Conference, workshops, etc.) as requested.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING
• Plan and execute multi-tiered digital event marketing campaigns.
• Develop marketing goals, propose budget, gain plan approval, and manage campaigns.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive Social Media Strategy for association activities incorporating email, geo-fencing, and social media, with a focused social media strategy.
• Create original, high-quality multi-media content using approved language and imagery.
• Define audiences and segments for highly targeted social media (LinkedIn and other) event marketing campaigns.
• Make recommendations for expanding the Association's social media presence and name recognition on additional digital platforms.
• Make recommendations and enhance outreach to target groups for curated events.
• Responsible for social media account management, including creating and managing a social media calendar, gathering/creating content, and writing captions.
• Analyze the Association's social media campaigns, compile regular social media performance reports, and adapt marketing tactics.
• Develop paid social media campaigns, propose budget, gain plan approval, and manage campaigns.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: WEBSITE DEVELOPMENT
• Regularly review the Association's websites and ensure that content is accurate and updated and that all links and redirects are functioning properly for a professional appearance.
• Maintain website health, analyze, and improve Search Engine Optimization (SEO) results.
• Assist with creating content based on branding guidelines and Association goals.
• Make recommendations for improving the aesthetics and functionality of the website.
• Update the Members-only portions of the website including resources, job boards, and deal announcements
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communication, or a related field or 2+ years of association management experience.
• 2 to 5 years of experience in marketing communications, with a strong emphasis on email marketing and knowledge of email trends.
• Experience with email marketing automation platforms, with a preference for Constant Contact or MailChimp and related digital media platforms and tools such as Canva and Adobe Illustrator.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to gather, understand, and synthesize technical information from a variety of sources, along with a keen eye for creative design.
• Familiarity with association management systems, preferably Novi AMS, to support marketing operations and data management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with Google Analytics for performance tracking and analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
• Collaborative mindset with strong interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships and working effectively internal teams and external partners.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, draw insights, and make data-driven decisions to optimize marketing strategies.
• Flexibility to adapt to evolving industry trends and organizational priorities, driving innovation and continuous improvement.
• Must have a strong work ethic and take initiative.
• Must work well independently as well as part of a team.
JOB TYPE: Full-time
SALARY: $45,000 to $50,000/year

Please note: This is not a remote position. Candidates must be in the Greater Houston area. BOMA offers a flexible work schedule for full-time employees, and after two months of employment (with supervisor approval), every other Friday off.
