SUMMARY
Hogan Lovells is a leading global law firm, providing business-oriented legal advice and high-quality service across its breadth of practices to clients around the world. Our growing, dynamic Marketing and Business Development (M&BD) department is looking for the right candidate to serve as the Marketing and Business Development Manager for our (i) International Arbitration practice (IA), which sits within our Litigation, Arbitration and Employment (LAE) practice.
This position will support of the marketing activities of the IA practice globally across varying markets and clients through framing and driving marketing and business development activities and programs that strengthen our reputation, engage clients, and drive revenue.
This individual will work in our Washington, DC or New York office as part of a global team. S/he will report into the Marketing & Business Development Director - LAE Americas. The Manager will work closely with the Practice Area Leader for IA, the IA Leadership Group and marketing and BD peers globally.
The M&BD Manager will actively participate in learning about the firm's service offerings, lawyers, and clients to lead initiatives based on their enhanced knowledge of our clients, their business needs, the competitive landscape of the global IA, and firm capabilities. They will be expected to build strong working relationships with the IA Practice globally, as well as other key partners to develop and execute and manage a range of business development and marketing initiatives aligned with the firm's strategic priorities. This is a highly collaborative role. In addition to the M&BD responsibilities for IA, this Manager will also collaborate with M&BD support for the broader LAE Americas practice.
JOB DESCRIPTION
INTERNATIONAL ARBITRATION RESPONSIBILITIES
* Work with the Practice Area Lead Partner for IA to develop and implement marketing goals, initiatives, and strategies to support business development.
* Serve as the liaison with other M&BD regional and global colleagues to coordinate activities to promote and develop business.
* Manage responses to RFPs, customized pitches, and business development presentations, including crafting targeted positioning and strategy, and overseeing delegated tasks related to client acquisition.
* Identify cross-selling opportunities with existing practice group clients and other firm clients and work with global, national, and regional M&BD colleagues and attorneys to expand client relationships.
* Work with the firm's communications team to build profile for the practice internally and externally by publicizing victories, news items, events, and relevant articles.
* Manage and execute the awards and rankings program for IA globally.
* Manage the IA global budget and serve as a strategic business partner to the IA partners globally to carefully steward BD investment to align tightly to strategic priorities and capture meaningful return on investment (ROI).
* Manage production of seminars, receptions, internal events and other marketing-oriented events and activities, including in concert with the firm's events team, sector teams and junior M&BD resources.
* In coordination with the communications team, evaluate sponsorships and opportunities to participate in various directories. Negotiate agreements and manage participation in sponsorships and directories to ensure that the firm receives the maximum ROI.
* Monitor industry and legal trends and competitor marketing initiatives to ensure practice stays ahead of the curve and is seen as an industry leader.
* Support the integration of lateral partners and counsel.
* Manage collection of information on practice group experience credentials for inclusion in marketing collateral and industry ranking programs, optimizing use of firm technology.
* Work with practice area attorneys in the development and production of internal and client communications.
SUPERVISORY REPSONSIBILITIES
* Collaborate closely with other members of the regional, sector and global M&BD and Corporate Comms team, to execute strategic projects.
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED SKILLS
* Well-versed with demonstrated success in marketing and business development best practices.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR EXPERIENCE
* Seven (7)+ years of relevant experience preferred, preferably in a Big Law setting, with direct IA or disputes M&BD experience. .
* Bachelor's degree.
* Spanish language would be an asset but is not required.
HOURS
Core hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., including one hour for lunch. Must be flexible to work additional hours.

This position is posted in multiple locations. In Washington, DC, the annualized salary range for this position is $125,000 to $184,050 depending on the candidate's overall experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. In New York, the annualized salary range for this position is $131,650 to $193,050 depending on the candidate's overall experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. Full time employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus. In addition, full time employees as well as some part time employees, will be eligible for the firm's fringe benefits as they currently exist.
