Communications Marketing Director (Current CUNY Employees Only) POSITION DETAILS The CUNY Graduate School of Public Health and Health Policy (SPH) is committed to teaching, research and professional and community service to create a healthier New York City and to promoting equitable, efficient and evidence-based solutions to pressing health problems facing cities around the world. Located in Central Harlem, CUNY SPH is the top-ranked public school of public health in the New York City, New York State and tristate region, and is among the top 10% of schools of public health nationally. The Marketing Director will lead marketing strategies to raise the profile and public awareness of CUNY SPH. They will collaborate with the Schools senior leadership team, Offices of Admissions and Communications, academic departments, centers and institutes and others, providing leadership and oversight to marketing and brand management. Key duties include but are not limited to: Leads and manages the training and development of the marketing team. Collaborates closely with the Office of Admissions to create dynamic, multifaceted marketing approaches that increase enrollment and enhance the reputation of the School. Oversees the execution of comprehensive and integrated brand and marketing strategies. Oversees digital advertising, SEO, content creation, lead generation and management. Collaborates across departments to ensure that brand and marketing messages and strategies are cohesive and effective across all channels. Leads all communication with third party marketing contractors. Works with departmental stakeholders to develop and update content on the Schools website. Manages the marketing departments budget and ensures efficient and timely allocation of resources across multiple campaigns, tools and software. Promotes newsworthy research and academic developments at the school, with the goal of engaging the CUNY SPH community, prospective students, partner organizations, and other collaborators. Develops and implements a data-driven assessment process, with clear metrics, to measure the efficacy of marketing campaigns and related activities. Assesses the schools investments in marketing and advises the senior leadership team on strategic investments to maximize results. Initiates the implementation of project management tools for the marketing department and assists implementation across all departments. Continuously monitors market trends and emerging technologies to keep the marketing strategies current and effective. Manages and mentors marketing staff to work as a well-functioning, integrated team. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree and eight years' related experience required. Preferred qualifications: Bachelors degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field. Marketing leadership experience, preferably in a higher education setting, with a proven record of accomplishment in leadership and strategic planning related to marketing strategy and achieving performance results. Strong leadership and team management skills and demonstrated ability to build, lead, and inspire a high-performing marketing team while managing cross-functional collaboration. Expertise in digital marketing and analytics. In-depth knowledge of digital marketing strategies (e.g. SEO, SEM, social media) and proficiency in data analysis and reporting using tools like Google Analytics, Looker Studio, Tableau and CRM systems. Exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present strategies and results effectively to stakeholders. Creative and strategic problem solver and thinker and a proven ability to develop innovative marketing strategies and execute them successfully, achieving measurable results and business growth. Experience in budgeting, financial management, procurement and human resources as related to marketing. Experience working on marketing projects for public health graduate degree programs. Designs and executes a comprehensive strategic plan for marketing, advertising and communications Develops overall advertising and media strategies to achieve image, awareness, enrollment, recruiting, and/or fundraising goals Provide professional and managerial oversight of a broad range of marketing programs and tools, including digital, print, mail, broadcast, social networking, and other media Manages and develops internal staff and external resources Develops and analyzes key metrics of marketing effectiveness, as well as budgets and costs related to marketing programs and campaigns Performs related duties as assigned.
