As Marketing Director, you will work closely with our leadership team, creatives, and external partners to promote live shows, training programs, and special events, while also enhancing our brand presence in the New York market. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of the entertainment industry, a passion for comedy, and a creative approach to growing audience engagement, brand awareness, Training Center enrollment, and ticket sales. This role will play a crucial part in driving The Second City New York's success in one of the most vibrant entertainment markets in the world. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies and campaigns to promote The Second City New York's sketch comedy and visiting comedy shows, training programs, special events, and corporate programs (Second City Works).
- Build and execute marketing campaigns, with the support of our Chicago HQ marketing team, that elevate the brand in New York while meeting ticket sales and enrollment targets.
- Oversee all New York digital marketing efforts, including New York website management, SEO, email marketing, and digital advertising campaigns.
- Use tools like Google Analytics, CRM software, and social media platforms to monitor audience behavior, sales funnels, and customer engagement metrics.
- Together with our marketing agency, use those insights to identify growth opportunities and tailor campaigns to target key demographics.
- Work closely with the creative team in Chicago to ensure marketing output aligns with The Second City's unique voice, mission, and comedic style.
- Develop a robust social media strategy with the New York freelance agency, that leverages platforms like Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook to grow followers, increase engagement, and drive ticket sales.
- Manage the marketing relationship with our partners including New York Comedy Festival, Comic Relief, New York Board of Tourism, etc.
- Collaborate with local influencers, media outlets, and cultural organizations to expand the reach and appeal of The Second City New York
- Work with PR agency and media outlets to generate buzz and coverage around The Second City's shows, events, and initiatives.
- Manage the New York marketing budget
Requirements
- Minimum of 7-10 years in marketing leadership roles, ideally within the entertainment, live events, or performing arts industries.
- Deep understanding of the New York City Market, and knowledge of the New York City entertainment landscape
- Expertise in Digital Marketing, social media management, SEO, email marketing, and data analysis.
- Comfortable working in a fast, ever-changing environment with the ability to Yes, And as needed.
