Primary Focus: The Marketing Director will play a pivotal role in driving the company's marketing strategies and achieving aggressive growth goals. They will be key in developing and executing comprehensive marketing initiatives to develop the marketing team, enhance brand awareness, increase lead generation, drive customer acquisition, and increase revenue through repeat customers and improved average order size.
Reports to: Vice President of Sales & Marketing
Key Responsibilities:
- Management: Develop, mentor, and coach an internal marketing team.
- Strategy & Tactics: Develop and implement innovative marketing strategies aligned with company objectives, leveraging both traditional and digital channels.
- Metrics & Reporting: Establish, track, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and initiatives. Provide regular reports and insights to senior management.
- Software/Hardware Expenses: Manage the marketing budget, including allocation of funds for software, hardware, and other resources necessary for campaign execution.
- Achieving Department Goals: Set ambitious yet achievable targets for the marketing team and monitor progress towards meeting departmental objectives.
- Vendor Communication: Collaborate with external agencies and vendors to ensure alignment with company goals and maximize return on investment.
- Customer Surveys: Develop and implement customer survey strategies to gather feedback, identify areas for improvement, and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Market Research: Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, competitive threats, and opportunities for growth. Use insights to inform marketing strategies and campaigns.
- Accountable for the marketing team's production of marketing collateral and related documents.
- Help develop the annual marketing plan and budget.
- Act as principal liaison and provide direction to multiple third-party marketing agencies.
- Complete other duties and tasks as assigned.

Preferred Education, Background & Skills:
- 7+ years managing a marketing team in a B2B organization within a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Strategic mindset with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, inspire, and mentor a team towards achieving common goals.
- Proficiency in marketing analytics tools and platforms, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Understanding of and/or proficiency in design software, CRM and marketing automation software (Sugar Market/Sell CRM), and websites.
Desired Qualities:
- High capacity for successful self-direction.
- Project management experience, training, or successes.
- Prior experience using Adobe Creative suite, copywriting, and/or performing digital marketing.
- Prior work experience in the commercial recreation industry.
- P rior experience marketing for a B2B Distributor.
- Prior experience with Sugar Market, Sugar CRM, or customer journey mapping.
Physical/Environmental Requirements:
Physical Activities: Able to meet all physical requirements of routine office work

Travel Needs:
This position will require occasional overnight or weekend travel to vendors, customers, tradeshows, and jobs sites.
FSLA Exempt/Non-exempt Classification:
Exempt Classification: This position is classified as Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and not subject to the requirements for payment for any hours worked in excess of 40 in a week (overtime). This position is expected to occasionally require hours in excess of 40 hours per week during seasonal needs, for business related travel or if related to a special project.
