Description of Job The Marketing Intern will report to the Senior Marketing Manager and work closely with the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), Senior Communications Manager, Marketing and Communications Coordinator, and Marketing Copywriter on the Marketing and Communications team (MarComm). The Marketing Intern will support the implementation of a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy for the Department, with an emphasis on graphic design, asset creation for social media, social media and website management. The Marketing Intern will help promote the Colorado brand business objectives, OEDIT programs and messages to target audiences and key constituents. Key Duties and Responsibilities Assist the MarComm team to implement a multi-channel marketing strategy and a comprehensive communication strategy for the organization and Division Directors. Create digital or print assets via Canva, skills with Adobe suite is a plus, that align with branded guidelines and overall OEDIT messaging. Updating website content weekly in alignment with accessibility standards including but not limited to fixing broken links, adding alt text, updating tables, and implementing redirects. Draft, schedule, post, and support social media content across multiple channels while collaborating with the Senior Communications Manager and Senior Marketing Manager. Follow accessibility best practices when drafting and scheduling social media content. Support the MarComm team with tracking metrics related to social media and website visits. Support organizing contact lists for newsletters, emails and media outreach. Opportunity to support implementing and launching engagement campaigns through Salesforce Marketing Cloud. Assist Communications Intern with preparing materials for press releases and media pitches, as well as metrics and analytics related to media coverage, when extra support is needed. Help order, maintain and organize marketing materials and collateral. Opportunity to research and write marketing contact, such as blog posts or guest columns for placement in Colorado-based news outlets and publications. Assist with other MarComm team responsibilities, as needed. Supplemental Information Pay Rate: $18.29/hour This position is considered non-classified, which means the position is not part of the Colorado State Personnel System. Therefore, the individual appointed to this position is considered at-will, and is not covered by the State Personnel Rules or the State Classification System.
