Description
Crain Communications is seeking an experienced Marketing Manager to develop and execute integrated brand marketing campaigns for Ad Age, a daily must-read global media brand for decision-makers and disruptors across the marketing and advertising landscape.
Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager, you will play a critical role in the development, implementation, measurement, and optimization of integrated campaigns that support Ad Age's extensive calendar of programming, including world-class events, coveted awards, and a wide range of sponsored custom programs. This role directly contributes to achieving the brand's revenue, audience, and lead-generation goals. Acting as a key connection point for cross-functional teams, you will collaborate with Sales, Events, Editorial, Custom, and Operations teams to ensure marketing initiatives deliver value to prospects, subscribers, and advertising partners.
Responsibilities:
* Manage the development and execution of promotional marketing plans for events, awards, custom programs, and content in alignment with events, sales, and editorial goals
* Drive registration and nominations for events and awards programs by developing targeted promotional strategies that engage key audiences and maximize participation
* Build and maintain a master campaign calendar, allocating and tracking promotional commitments across owned channels
* Serve as a steward of the brand by ensuring all customer touchpoints maintain consistent messaging and creativity
* Develop data-driven marketing materials that communicate the value of the program and its promotional components, including copy and creative for print, email, social media, search, and web
* Collaborate closely with sales to create tailored marketing campaigns designed to attract high value prospects and generate new leads, ensuring alignment with sales' audience segment requirements
* Partner with sales to craft campaigns that highlight program benefits and advertising opportunities, while leveraging marketing strategies to support pipeline development
* Oversee campaign logistics and project timelines, leading cross-functional teams to meet deadlines
* Continuously evaluate, compare, and enhance marketing strategies by utilizing performance based analytics
* Be a thought leader and subject matter expert on current best practices, innovations, and the competitive landscape to continuously improve our programs and campaigns
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications, or related field required
* 3-5 years of relevant work experience in a B2B marketing position supporting sponsorship, advertising, or events sales
* A strong working knowledge and understanding of integrated marketing strategies including channel, creative, operations, and brand
* Experience leveraging marketing technologies and platforms to plan, execute, and measure campaigns (Automation platforms, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Google, Adobe Analytics)
* Excellent professional writing skills with an emphasis on marketing copy
* Strong analytical skills; able to create data-driven marketing campaigns end to end
* Expert project management skills with strong attention to detail; deadline driven with ability to complete tasks and deliver quickly
* Ability to multi-task and adapt to a fast-paced environment of multiple priorities, executing in the short term while developing long-term strategies
* Ability to effectively manage across multiple stakeholders in a matrixed organization
* Self-motivated and results oriented
Preferences:
* Experience in the publishing or media industry
* Events marketing experience, particularly for large-scale or high-profile programs
* Familiarity with B2B lead generation strategies and sales enablement techniques
* Knowledge of sponsorship and advertising sales processes
* Experience with Adobe Analytics and comfort in interpreting data to inform strategy and measure success
* Proven track record of managing marketing campaigns across multiple digital channels, including social media, email, and web
This position is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
Pay Transparency Disclosure:
The estimated base salary for this position is $70,000 - $80,000.
The final salary offering will take into account a wide range of factors, including experience, accomplishments and location. The salary range provided should not be considered as a salary limit or cap. In addition to base salary, Crain also offers competitive benefits including retirement plan savings contributions and bonus opportunities based on individual and company performance.

Environmental Demands
