Marketing & Special Events ManagerLocation: Wilmington, DelawarePay Rate: $63,000 yearlyPOSITION SUMMARY: The Marketing & Special Events Manager, reporting to the Vice President of Brand & Community Engagement, is responsible for supporting Goodwill of Delaware & Delaware County's marketing and community programs. In addition, the Manager will cultivate fundraising initiatives in concert with the Vice President.The Manager will implement the organization's fundraising strategies which will include a multi-million-dollar capital campaign, annual fundraising events, Goodwill's participation in the Do More 24 and Giving Tuesday online fundraisers, and ongoing donor relations campaigns. Also core to the responsibilities of this role are implementation of digital marketing and communications campaigns to support Goodwill's program areas (donated goods/retail, workforce development, contract services, sustainability, and community engagement). In this role, a customer-centric mindset is essential.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:Responsible for the successful execution of marketing strategies aligned with the organization's enterprise-wide marketing plan, fundraising plan, and corporate goals.Executes email campaigns, events, website content, contests, community relations activities, and other areas of marketing, as needed.Manages Goodwill's social media influencer program.Develops compelling fundraising campaign messages and materials for an array of channels and assists with the conceptualization of graphic design elements to effectively communicate the organization's mission and impact. A working knowledge of the Canva design tool (for the creation of flyers, social media posts, presentations, etc.).Seeks relevant and up-to-date content from other departments, stores, staff members, and community in order to create fresh content for social media, email campaigns, and e-newsletter.Develops quarterly communication to prospective donors, sponsors, and stakeholders to increase awareness of Goodwill's mission impact, new and emerging initiatives, and to get and keep audiences primed to engage with Goodwill.In conjunction with the VP of Brand & Community Engagement, supports the design, delivery, and marketing of events including Goodwill's annual luncheon and other awareness and fundraising events/activities.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in marketing or a related field, and at least four years of experience that includes marketing/digital communication, non-profit fundraising, or donor relations. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.SKILLS/ABILITIES:Demonstrated proficiency using various marketing platforms, including social, digital, and Constant Contact or similar email marketing software.Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).Demonstrated ability to identify target audiences and devise digital campaigns that engage, inform, and motivate.Excellent verbal and written skills, including presentation and editing skills.Strong organizational and project management skills, including the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Demonstrated ability to promote a positive brand image and build relationships with a diverse constituent population including community leaders and organizations.Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.Must be self-motivated to learn and advance knowledge of technology systems (CRM, donor management, etc.) to fulfill responsibilities of the role, accomplish organizational goals, and foster one's professional growth.Experience with Microsoft Planner and fundraising software (managing data, creating and using reports, analyzing results) is preferred.Writing samples will be requested as part of the recruitment process.WORKING CONDITIONS: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
