* Set up, adapt, and operate woodworking machines and tools to fabricate templates.

* Break or cut bricks, tiles, or blocks to size, using trowel edge, hammer, or power saw.

* Remove excess mortar with trowels and hand tools, and finish mortar joints with jointing tools, for a sealed, uniform appearance.

* Spread, level, and smooth concrete, using rake, shovel, hand or power trowel, hand or power screed, and float.

* Assemble and fasten materials to make frameworks or props, using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue.

* Employee must successfully complete the General Transportation of Hazardous Materials Course, MTMC II, and keep certification current.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Mason (Carpenter) without more than normal supervision. Must possess the ability to perform common tasks involving laying a variety of brick, block, and stone in the construction or repair; pour and level concrete; operating jackhammers and drills to break up concrete or pavement; install rafters, studs, braces, and other building materials from written plans. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

* PHYSICAL EFFORT

Work requires standing, bending, stooping, considerable arm movement, and working in cramped or awkward positions. May lift or carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. Receives assistance in carrying heavier items.

* WORKING CONDITIONS Works in a woodworking shop and outdoors. Exposed to a variety of weather conditions while outdoors. When working from ladders, scaffolds and manlifts there is danger of falling. There is also exposure to dust and dirt while mixing mortar and plaster while handling various masonry and plastering materials. Frequently exposed to eye, skin, nose and lung irritation from glue, bonding chemicals, vapors, splinters, and sawdust. Frequently exposed to possible cuts and serious injuries from accidents while using woodworking machines. May be required to work in asbestos contaminated areas. Incumbent must not have any physical restrictions that would prevent the use of required safety equipment, respirators, protective clothing, dust mask, etc.
