The position requires that the individual be in good physical condition, of high integrity, cooperative in nature and have the initiative to perform tasks outside the realm of specific guidelines. 2. The position requires that the individual be capable of using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access) and Google Docs. Maintain access to gmail, and calendar on desktop computer and mobile phone. 3. Knowledge and application of inventory control practices and procedures are required. 4. The position requires that the individual have knowledge of and some skills in the areas of electricity, plumbing, refrigeration, and carpentry. 5. The position requires that the individual be able to communicate clearly through email, text, phone conversation/voice mail, and written memos. 6. The position requires that the individual be capable of lifting 40 pounds and carrying objects of at least 40 lbs, bending, twisting and standing for long periods. 7. Must possess a valid driver license and a clean driving record. JOB GOAL: To provide needed support to the Student Nutrition Department and its employees, particularly in the areas of inventory control, distribution of products, routine preventative maintenance and loss prevention. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Shall receive and help put away deliveries and distribute food and paper products to all designated locations, as directed by the Student Nutrition Supervisor and/or Assistant Student Nutrition Supervisor. Deliveries may include (but not be limited to) USDA commodity products, as well as products and equipment from other vendors 2. Shall maintain all paperwork related to deliveries, repairs, and services. Responsibilities shall include (but not be limited to) filing, database management, and weekly/monthly report generation. 3. This position serves as a courier between the kitchens and the Student Nutrition Office. Every morning a bag is delivered to each kitchen with correspondence from the SNO and every afternoon the bags are picked up from the kitchens and delivered to the SNO. Contents of the bags may contain sensitive information and/or items of value are to be handled carefully. 4. Shall accomplish preventative maintenance work as assigned by the Student Nutrition Supervisor and/or Assistant Student Nutrition Supervisor. Such assignments may include (but not be limited to) calibration of ovens, de-liming valves and screens on dish machines, and sanitizing ice machines. Responsibilities shall also involve routine cleaning/replacement of filters, cleaning refrigeration coils and condensation drains, and blowing out dust for better appliance efficiency. 5. Shall perform the routine movement of products, including the delivery of commodities and other needed items to the various schools. 6. Shall work closely and coordinate with the Student Nutrition Supervisor person in order to accomplish daily and long range assignments. Coordinate with the Student Nutrition Supervisor to maintain a daily Assignment and Activity Log. 7. Shall work in conjunction with Head Custodians, MCS Maintenance Department, and outside service technicians in accomplishing minor repairs in the school kitchens, storage areas, refrigerators, and freezers, under the direction of the Student Nutrition Supervisor and/or Assistant Student Nutrition Supervisor. 8. Shall be responsible for hand tools, equipment, hardware, materials and supplies owned by the district, in that all of the fore-mentioned items are to be secured after use and/or at the end of a work day. These tools should be used properly and kept in good working condition. The Student Nutrition Supervisor should be notified immediately should any tool be lost or broken. 9. Shall be responsible for maintaining a cargo van. The van should be kept neat and clean. Fill the tank with fuel as needed, arrange for maintenance and repairs as needed with a designated vendor. 10. This position requires driving the department cargo van for the entire shift each day. The person in this position must follow all traffic laws for speed, traffic lights, stop signs, bus passing, etc. Proper drivers' safety must be followed, including but not limited to wearing a seat belt at all times. 11. Shall have the ability to lift cartons and/or equipment and move items to designated location(s) 12. Shall possess basic knowledge of and/or the ability to learn about various types of equipment, in order to shut down defective systems, make minor repairs, or perform routine maintenance. 13. Shall report inventory issues and needed repairs or maintenance to the Student Nutrition Supervisor and/or Assistant Student Nutrition Supervisor, so necessary adjustments can occur or work may be scheduled, then completed. 14. Shall read and follow all written information distributed to employees concerning safety & sanitation procedures 15. Shall respond to local health department authorities during inspections, referring the inspector to the Food Service Supervisor. 16. Shall assist the food service operations during service in any capacity when needed. 17. Shall perform other duties as assigned by the Food Service Supervisor and/or Assistant Food Service Supervisor. Interested individuals must complete an application in the AppliTrack system.
