Job Description:

Montauk Yacht Club is seeking a Massage Therapist to join the team at our 107-room luxury property located within the iconic Hamptons in New York! Spanning 35 acres on Montauk s Star Island, Montauk Yacht Club offers waterfront views, a private beach, three pools, multiple dining options and over 200 wet slips that can accommodate boats from small day cruisers to 300-foot superyachts. Holding eight decades of East End history as an elite social club and thoughtfully reborn for the modern traveler, guests can expect classic East Coast architecture, well-appointed interiors and detail-driven amenities.

As a Massage Therapist, you will play a crucial role in providing massage therapy, facials, waxing, and other body treatments to guests while ensuring exceptional service delivery. Additionally, you may be responsible for leading a team of therapists.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Adhere to the policies and standards of Proper Hospitality to maintain consistency in service quality
  • Perform massages, facials, waxing, and body treatments in accordance with established guidelines and guest expectations
  • Assess contraindications of guests to ensure suitability for services
  • Meet the needs of guests throughout the duration of the service, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction
  • Utilize universal precautions for providing services and maintain cleanliness and disinfection of equipment as per CDC guidelines
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of all spa services offered, including product ingredients and benefits, and effectively communicate this information to guests
  • Recommend additional beneficial treatments and upsell products and services to enhance the guest experience
  • Ensure treatments begin and end on time, respecting guests' schedules
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas according to established procedures
  • Inform Spa Director or management about product needs and maintain client cards and treatment notes as necessary
  • Complete all assigned side work and attend scheduled meetings and professional training sessions
  • Report any incidents or accidents to management promptly
  • Assist with the cleanliness of Spa Locker and Fitness Rooms as needed
  • Provide leadership and guidance to other massage therapists, assisting with their training and development
  • Collaborate with the Spa Director to develop new treatment offerings and enhance existing services
  • Assist in maintaining inventory of spa products and supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels
  • Participate in promotional events and marketing initiatives to promote spa services and increase guest engagement
  • Conduct client consultations to assess their needs and customize treatments accordingly
  • Act as a liaison between guests and other spa staff to ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience
  • Conduct follow-up sessions with guests to gather feedback and address any concerns

Qualifications:

  • Valid state license in massage therapy with a minimum of 750 hours and a valid esthetic license
  • Previous experience in massage, facials, waxing, and body work
  • Customer service experience, preferably in a spa and hotel setting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexibility to work during the spa's operating hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 pounds
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment

In addition to the hourly wage, Massage Therapists can expect:

  • Additional 20% commission on services performed
  • 10% retail incentive
  • Gratuities/Tips on services
