Their primary goal is to ensure efficient and effective use of resources to meet production deadlines. The Master Scheduler is also responsible for developing and maintaining the overall production schedule to ensure timely delivery of products. Requirements We are searching for a candidate with:
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, production management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in production scheduling, manufacturing, and project management.
  • Strong knowledge of scheduling software (such as ERP/MRP systems) and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Problem-solving and analytical abilities to address workflow and scheduling issues.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Duties and Responsibilities A typical day may include:
  • Create and manage the master production schedule to meet customer demand, sales forecasts, and deadlines.
  • Adjust schedules as needed to accommodate changes in priorities, resources, or production delays.
  • Collaborate with production, procurement, and supply chain teams to ensure all necessary materials, labor, and equipment are available to meet schedule requirements.
  • Communicate changes and updates to the schedule across departments.
  • Track production progress and workflow to ensure that deadlines are being met.
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks or scheduling conflicts that could impact delivery timelines.
  • Ensure adequate space and plan for the optimal use of resources, including labour, machinery, and materials, to avoid downtime and inefficiencies.
  • Work with management to identify potential improvements to increase efficiency and reduce lead times.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, production efficiency, and lead times.
  • Prepare reports and analysis to provide insights into scheduling performance and areas for improvement.
  • Anticipate scheduling problems and implement proactive solutions to minimize disruption.
  • Manage risks related to production capacity, materials shortages, and other potential issues.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to improve scheduling processes, implement best practices, and adopt new tools or software for scheduling optimization.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of schedules, resource allocation, and production milestones.
  • Optimize and balance inventory to ensure adequate levels are in place while managing over/under supply
  • Manage projects that have a major impact on production scheduling and inventory movement
