Job Title: Production Control ManagerJob DescriptionThe Production Control Manager leads the Production Planning and Scheduling team, overseeing daily activities, processes, and capabilities for domestic operations. This role ensures job scheduling, material availability, job processing, receiving, inventory control, material handling, and logistics are effectively managed to meet customer order deadlines. The manager also leads Sales & Operations Planning meetings, coordinates with various departments, and optimizes production processes using ERP systems.ResponsibilitiesLead the Production Planning and Scheduling team for domestic operations.Oversee the Receiving, Inventory, and Material Handling team.Ensure job scheduling, material availability, and job processing are on track to meet customer orders.Lead Sales & Operations Planning meetings to communicate production schedule status.Coordinate with Sales to establish customer order shipment dates based on production capacity.Facilitate coordination across Engineering, Purchasing, Quality, and Manufacturing to meet shipment dates.Optimize job routing and visibility through production facilities using ERP systems.Generate and report Key Performance Indicators for lead time, order completion, and productivity.Update standard lead times and set delivery dates based on order backlog and production capacity.Coordinate with Purchasing and Inventory Control to optimize inventory replenishment strategies.Develop and improve inventory cycle counting programs and lead physical inventory activities.Resolve non-conforming material issues and adjust production schedules as needed.Enhance status dashboards and reporting capabilities for production transparency.Build strong team relationships based on communication, trust, and mutual respect.Ensure team members follow established processes through training and supervision.Continuously improve capabilities within the Production Planning and Scheduling, Receiving, Inventory, and Material Handling team.Serve as a subject matter expert for production planning, scheduling, and job processing functions of the ERP system.Select employees, review performance, administer work rules, and recommend compensation adjustments.Represent the company professionally in all situations with effective communication and delegation.Comply with housekeeping, safety, and quality rules and relevant regulations.Perform other tasks as required to support company initiatives or annual goals.Essential SkillsSupply chain managementERP systems expertiseProduction controlManagement skillsProduction schedulingForecastingPlanning and schedulingProcurementPurchasingPrior experience as a Buyer PlannerExcel data entrySAP knowledgeInventory managementAdditional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Financial Planning & Analysis, or a relevant disciplineAt least 5 years of experience in master scheduling, production planning, and/or scheduling in a manufacturing or assembly operationExperience leading and developing teams responsible for Production, Shipping, Receiving, Inventory, Material Handling, and/or LogisticsExperience working with Engineered-to-Order, Configured-to-Order, and ship-from-stock operating modelsDemonstrated experience with Epicor ERP or multiple ERP systemsStrong written and verbal communication skillsProficiency in M.S. Office suite applicationsWork EnvironmentThe work environment involves managing multiple domestic operations and coordinating activities across various departments. The role requires optimizing production processes using ERP systems and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. The manager will work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams, and the position involves regular reporting and communication with stakeholders.
