Job Type Full-time, Part-timeDescriptionJob Purpose:The Match Engagement Specialist is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing program events and trainings for Community-Based Bigs, Littles, and Parent/Guardian participants. This role involves promoting match activities, managing event logistics, and creating marketing materials to ensure engagement and participation.Duties & Responsibilities:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Plan and facilitate a variety of programs, activities, and trainings for match participants.
  • Work closely with agency staff, volunteer committees, and external partners to secure event sponsorships and materials.
  • Propose new ideas to enhance program activities and improve current events.
  • Organize event venues, manage on-site production (decor, catering, entertainment), and oversee registration, promotional materials, and clean-up.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with volunteers, mentees, and attendees.
  • Create event brochures, invitations, and manage promotional efforts via agency email (countmein).
  • Manage and distribute donated tickets for agency events.
  • Track event attendance, manage match support contact forms, and generate post-event reports.
  • Capture photos and videos at events for marketing purposes.
  • Distribute and analyze surveys to assess relationship outcomes during events.
  • Purchase event materials and stay within the allocated budget.
  • Assist with other program, event, or development efforts as needed.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
RequirementsSkills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of event planning or administrative experience, preferably in a non-profit setting.
  • Bilingual Spanish Preferred (may be required based on hiring needs).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects.
  • Excellent customer service and relationship management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of design platforms (InDesign, Adobe, Canva) is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative on various tasks.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel across the Long Island region. Flexibility to work morning, afternoon, nights, and two Saturdays a month, as assigned.
Working Conditions :
  • The worker is subject to both environmental conditions: Activities occur inside and outside.
Physical Requirements:
  • Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.
  • Standing: Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time
  • Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another
