Working side by side with designers, test and manufacturing engineers, you'll use your education, experience and growing expertise to develop and evaluate new and innovative technology to survive in the most hostile of environments\.In this role you will:- Select Materials, and Processes \(M & P\) on new designs that will help defend our country, get hands\-on manufacturing experience of the next satellite, or provide oversight to an extensive supply chain providing products critical to Mission Success- Perform Materials and Processes \(M&P\) technical engineering assignments- Troubleshoot problems and find innovative solutions- Participate in the selection, qualification, testing, and failure analysis of materials & processes, prepare technical and progress reports on assigned tasks, prepare specifications, evaluate suppliers and analyze test reports- Coordinate with other disciplines such as Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and ProcurementWe're looking for:- A self\-starter who develops solutions to technical issues- A motivated individual who's able to work closely within a geographically diverse team to resolve technical issues- Someone with the ability to handle shifting priorities, multiple projects and timeline pressure to meet deadlines- Someone comfortable with communicating in a variety of forums- The ability to work with management and program representatives at several levelsIf selected you will need to obtain a DOD security clearance\. US Citizenship required\.Typically 2\+ years of professional experience\.**Basic Qualifications:**- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college inPhysics, Material Sciences, MetallurgicalEngineering, Chemical Engineering or a relateddiscipline\.- Experience in materials and processes engineering, for example; metal finishing processes including plating, anodizing, chemical conversion coating, passivation or organic materials such as paints, paints, adhesives, lubricants, bonding, components \(CCAs and PWBs\)- Experience in Materials and Processes for product development, improvement, design, application and production- Experience conducting problem investigations, failure analysis, and manufacturing operations- Experience developing design, environmental and operational requirements for materials in aerospace applications- Experience establishing and implementing technical requirements \(specifications, program plans/requirements, etc\.\)- Ability to obtain a DOD Top Secret security clearance\. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits\.**Schedule for this Position:** 9x80 every other Friday off**Pay Rate:**The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York \(excluding most major metropolitan areas\), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $67,400 \- $129,300\. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location\. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only\.
