Job Description:
Material Control Coordinator Single handedly responsible for the entire flow of all material within the facility, to include, receiving, receiving, labeling, documentation, logistics coordination, intra-facility material movement, and tracking. Job Description:
  • Responsible for managing the receipt of all material; physically, in ERP system and documentation-wise.
  • Prepare all material for shipment using appropriate and applicable boxes, crates, pallets, and packaging materials. Potentially assist with build and preparation of shipping crates and pallets
  • Responsible for the movement of all material throughout the building, and between two buildings on site, as required using hand truck, pallet jack, forklift or other applicable manual and motorized equipment
  • Solely responsible for the packaging and unpackaging of customer parts.
  • Generate all shipping documentation.
  • Interface with customers by phone, email and in person to coordinate shipments to and from the customer and our location.
  • Load/unload and set-up parts to be inspected.
  • Ensure all customer materials are carefully and properly handled and tracked.
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe, hazard free OSHA complaint workplace with full responsibility for the maintenance of SDS sheets for facility and for keeping shipping, receiving, inventory, and storage areas neat and orderly.
  • Perform miscellaneous physical and clerical duties as assigned.
Essential Skills:
  • HS Diploma
  • At least two (2) years of comparable experience in a material control or inventory related position for a small manufacturing organization.
  • Proficiency with basic hand and power tools.
  • US Citizenship is required to meet customer requirements.
  • Able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
  • Will be required to present driver's license that has been clean and valid for at least five (5) years.
  • Experienced in the use of basic computer applications (Word, Excel).
  • Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal and capable of following written and verbal instructions.
  • Available to work extended hours and weekends, as workload requires.
  • Must be a strong team player, capable of thriving within a close knit, cross functional team environment.
Non-Essential Skills:
  • Prior experience working with an MRP or ERP system; ideally MS AX.
  • Associate degree in technical discipline
  • Understanding of OSHA regulations
  • Experience working according to quality standards and procedures is preferred.
Physical & Mental Demands:
  • Regularly required to stand for prolonged periods of time and sit, walk, bend and work within and around industrial equipment and systems is both a lab and industrial environment.
  • Will need to repeatedly use hands to finger, handle, feel and operate hand tools, power tools, and related standard industrial production and office equipment.
  • Able to operate a forklift, power lift, crane, and other material movement devices effectively and safely once trained.
  • Day to day responsibilities will require lifting, moving, carrying, and maneuvering materials up to 50 pounds alone; heavier with assistance.
  • Capable of working at elevated heights with proper safety gear and safely use and traverse a ladder.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Expected to effectively communicate in person, on phone, and via email and other electronic devices on a continual and repetitive basis.
  • Able to fulfill essential job function in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.
