Atkore is forging a future where our employees, customers, suppliers, shareholders, and communities are building better together - a future focused on serving the customer and powering and protecting the world.With a global network of manufacturing and distribution facilities, Atkore is a leading provider of electrical, safety and infrastructure solutions.Responsibilities:Adherence to Atkore Safety / Life Saving Rules is paramount.Identify work procedures; prepare work schedules and expedite workflow including standardizing procedures to improve efficiency.Work closely with Customer Service, Manufacturing, Inventory Control to oversee the assigned shift operations including distribution and warehousing operations by maintaining and enhancing existing standard work.Coordinate & plan all activity including the timing and location for carriers to be loaded on all transportation types include flatbed, LTL, and will call.Audit work to ensure it meets company standards and conforms to all policies and procedures.Develop and implement processes to improve DOTIF, Atkore's measure of on-time, in full deliveries.Prepare daily shipping schedule for the carriers and follow up to ensure the loads are covered.What you'll bring:Associate degree or a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience preferred; prior success in Shipping/Receiving and/or equivalent position at Atkore International required.Extensive experience with scanning systems, operations, and capabilities. JD Edwards preferred.Demonstrable shipping/material handling experience with knowledge of shipping and receiving principles, practices, and procedures.Management (team leader) experience preferred.Comprehensive oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.Management experience in a union environment is preferred, but not required.Follow established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, and environmental.Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the proven ability to deliver good and bad news.Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook.All duties as instructed by management.Within 3 months, you'll:Complete your Atkore immersion program.Understand how your job will help deliver Atkore's strategy.Gain an understanding of your team.Gain an understanding of the training materials and procedures your team owns.Participate in a Kaizen.Within 6 months, you'll:Update training materials and procedures.Be performing daily inspections of receivers and shipments.Identify ways to strengthen the team's commitment to Atkore's core values of Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect and Excellence.Within 12 months, you'll:Be managing, evaluating and reporting on material control productivity that delivers Atkore's strategy.Create and update reports, training materials and documentation.Have meaningful performance conversations with your direct reports.Be able to resolve any issues quickly and safely.Join our team and align yourself with an industry leader!Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities.#J-18808-Ljbffr
