About you and this role Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Material Coordinator & Inventory Controller in Seadrift, Texas.The Material Coordinator & Inventory Controller manages Maintenance Repair and Operating (MRO) Supplies inventory. This role requires broadened technical skills in analytical/scientific methods or operational processes to perform a defined array of activities. In this role, you may act as an informal resource for team members with less experience.ResponsibilitiesReceives material requests from maintenance and operations personnel and translates into requisitions.Source materials according to Procurement guidelines.Processes material requests for planned and emergency work; tracks and expedites marshaled material.Communicates with the appropriate maintenance role (Maintenance Activity Coordinator, Work Activity Coordinator and Planner) to coordinate material delivery for maintenance work.Functions as a focal point for disposition of extra/unneeded parts and generating delivery instructions for internal and external (MSIs) returns.Communicates Supplier Performance Issues.Enters materials, tools, equipment requests via SAP or Procard and confirms delivery date.Coordinate the return of materials, tools and equipment obtained on a value added work order.Must be willing to develop a high level of skill on various electronic tools including MS Word, Excel, MOC, WebEDMS, and MS Outlook.Willing to work within the Global Maintenance Work Process and help resolve issues.The successful candidate will be expected to support the plant off-hours when needed.Inclusion in after hour and weekend duty assignments is required. Flexibility can be discussed with leader at time of interview.Analyzes (re-)establish and manage MRO inventory levels.Conduct physical inventories/reconcile spare parts and maintain records.Manage the MRO reorder process.Set up new items for inventory.Follow Slow Moving Inventory Process.Utilize the QSPP (Quality Service and Product Performance) Process for supplier feedback.Generate data and system management reports.Optimize MRO Materials.Own the Material Repair Process.Assists the business in articulating the business MRO supply strategy.Supports Material Master Management, Expandable Consumable Material Management Process (ECMMP), Slow Moving and Obsolete Part Management and Investment Recovery.Serves as the focal point responsible for the Generation of Code requests for inventoried and non -inventoried MRO material.Executes Order Recommendation process. Analyzes, establishes and manages MRO inventory levels. Maintains MRO inventory records and parameters. Performs technical identification of new and/or existing MRO materials. Participates in standardization of MRO materials.Documents Critical Spare Part Definition and parameters for a critical spare parts.Handles reservations and backorders for MRO inventory items. Sets up new items for inventory and executes MRO inventory replenishments.Analyzes surplus/obsolete materials or equipment and initiates investment recovery process.Monitors supplier performances regarding timelines and completeness of deliveries.Participates in systems support functions including changes to programs, functionality and testing.Acts as problem solver for technical aspects on MRO materials.QualificationsA minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.3 or more years of relevant experience.Working knowledge of SAP.Willing and able to operate a forklift/truck.Willing and able to work overtime and weekends, as business needs require.A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.
