Job Title: Material Handler Department: Distribution Reports To: Distribution Manager Shift: 1st Shift (7am - 3:15pm) Duties and Responsibilities : 1. Fulfills raw material requests for production. 2. Place finished goods and raw materials into the racking. 3. Will cross-train on all warehouse forklifts. 4. Consolidates materials within the EM BINS. 5. Maintains cleanliness and organization with the EM Warehouse. 6. Assists Marketing & R&D with material requests. 7. Assists Shipping with order requests. 8. Have a working knowledge of Epicor to locate item BINS. 9. Returns raw materials from production to existing BINS. 10. Maintains pallet availability for production. 11. Assists with loading/unloading trucks as needed. 12. Fills in for Receiving Floater as needed. 13. Performs cycle counts when necessary. 14. Maintains an accurate transaction log. 15. Assists with Inventory accuracy. 16. Wraps pallets for outsourcing/outbound freight as needed. Miscellaneous: 1. Participates in lean activities, including but not limited to: a. Lean training and lean events such as kaizen or a 5-day event. b. 5-S program in department or other areas assigned. c. DMAICs. Continuously looks for ways to improve both the department's and own individual efficiencies and time management, as well as ways to improve any aspect of the Company's operations, and develops and implements DMAICs accordingly. 2. Notifies the Coordinator/Manager of any production, equipment, safety, personnel problems, etc., and cooperates in resolving such issues. For example, requests assistance when systems prevent the efficient performance of duties or when a system fails. 3. Provides the Coordinator/Manager with feedback to determine where additional training would benefit and obtains additional training as necessary. 4. Assists in other department activities as needed. 5. Floats to and works in other Production areas as needed. 6. Complies with all Company policies (i.e., personnel, safety, etc.). 7. Performs other duties as assigned. (Such tasks may or may not be essential functions of the job.) Requirements Qualifications/Job Requirements : General computer knowledge and typing skills desired. Must be able to drive, be DOT certified, and maintain a good driving record. Requires significant walking, standing, and moving material. Must be able to transport up to 50 pounds and able to move objects around in excess of 110 lbs. and operate a forklift and a pallet jack.
