Applicants must be open to cross training and demonstrate the ability to promote a positive, safe working environment focused on teamwork.GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Operate powered forklift trucks, hoists, handcarts, and other material handling equipment to maintain workflow and the organization of materialUse production paperwork to locate, deliver and place materials in a warehouse environmentMaintain equipment in good operating order, following power industrial equipment guidelines and completing start-of-shift inspection checklistDemonstrate proficiency to perform within at least 3 areas of their functionUnderstand and participate in continuous improvement activitiesPerform housekeeping and 5S to keep the department clean, safe, and well organizedIdentify problems or potential safety hazards and recommends resolutionsWork safely and efficiently while meeting or exceeding Tennant Company quality expectationsPerform more complex troubleshooting and adjustment to complete assigned tasksMentor and train entry-level Material Handlers within their scope of responsibilitiesFocus on continuous improvements of material handling processesPerform warehouse transactionsPerform other duties as assignedREQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:High school diploma or equivalentDemonstrated skills necessary to perform the duties of the positionCompetent in the operation of a fork truckPossess a valid driver's licensePrevious experience in SAP, RF Device, and Warehouse Management preferred.REQUIRED SKILLS:Ability to follow detailed work instructionsAbility to acquire Tennant Company Power Industrial Truck Certification (PIT)Ability to operate a stand up and sit-down forklift, hoists, handcarts and stock chaserAbility to use a warehouse management system and associated tools (WM Warehouse, SAP, RF Device)Ability to navigate a computer and WorkForceAbility to read Engineering Drawings (Blueprints)Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and solve problems to complete assigned tasksAbility to plan, prioritize and multitaskBasic understanding of Microsoft Windows and OutlookREQUIRED INTERPERSONAL & BEHAVIORAL SKILLS:Ability to problem-solveAbility to concentrate on tasks, make decisions and work calmly and effectively in a high-pressure, deadline-oriented environmentWillingness to be flexible with time and adjust to a changing work environmentAbility to build and maintain positive relationships, both internally and externally, while maintaining a client service orientationAbility to use sound judgment and discretion in dealing with highly confidential informationConsistent attendance either onsite or remotely as needed by the businessAbility to take direction and accept supervisionDemonstrated ability to work independently, organize and accurately prioritize work, be detail-oriented, understand when urgency is required and use good judgment in varied situationsREQUIRED PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Routinely bends and lifts up to 40 pounds individuallyWorks in multiple positions during a shiftAbility to stand for an 8-hour shiftENVRINOMENTAL EXPOSURES:Routinely and regularly works near moving mechanical partsOccasionally exposed to hot conditionsOccasionally exposed to non-toxic fumesModerate noise levelOccasionally exposed to oil, grease, gasoline, dust, metal particles and sharp-edged materialsSAFETY REQUIRMENTS:Must be able to wear safety glasses, steel toed shoes and hearing protectionBegin your journey with us.
