**$1000 SIGN ON BONUS

**O'Neal Steel has an opening for a (2nd Shift) Material Handler at our Peru, IL. facility.**

The Material Handler will be involved in the receipt of inbound inventory, placing material into storage, pulling inventory from storage to fill customer orders, loading material on trucks and trailers for outbound shipment, load / unload material from processing machines, performing cleaning / packaging processes to fill customer orders, operate processing equipment when needed, and contributing to improved efficiency performance of machines meeting set standards.

Duties typically assigned to employees in this classification include:

* Fork lift operation

* Cleaning parts

* Operate a Kasto machine

* Load outgoing trucks

* Operate a side loader

* Operate a stacker crane

* Pull stock

* General material handling or warehouse work

* Yard Dog operation

* Any other activity that might be required of the employee at any given time

**Required Skills:** To qualify for consideration, an applicant must possess the following skills. Possession of these skills is a prerequisite for employment.

* Ability to operate a fork lift and remote overhead crane preferred

* Ability to operate a Band Saw machine preferred

* Ability to use a variety of hand tools such as: hammer, pliers, screwdriver, wrench, drill, grinder, bander.

* Ability to accurately read a tape measure.

**Desirable Skills:** The following skills are considered important to this position but may be learned on the job. Applicants will not be eliminated from consideration if they do not possess these skills.

* Ability to operate any piece of metal working equipment

* Ability to read and interpret simple blueprints

* Ability to use measuring tools such as box calipers, slide dial calipers and micrometers

**Shift:** **Must be able to work 2nd Shift (3:00PM-11:00PM) Monday - Friday. Overtime will be required as needed.**
