Job Description:
Essential Functions and responsibilities Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Load and unload trucks; move furniture by hand truck, cart, or dolly.
  • Scan product to and from carts, racks, and bays to ensure inventory tracking.
  • Push, pull, or lift product on and off lift truck carts.
  • Stage and open product in delivery bays; inspect product, with regard to the condition of the carton.
  • Blanket wrap furniture for transport or delivery; package wrap product for storage.
  • Utilize foam packaging process to ensure secure transport of fragile product.
  • Dispose of trash/cardboard; operate baler, compactor, vacuum, scrubber to keep the DC clean and organized.
  • Arrive punctually and consistently to work; follow your assigned schedule.
  • Contribute to team effort by performing various related duties to accomplish needed results.
CompetenciesMinimum Reasoning ability associated with this classification:
  • Ability to apply logical thinking and job knowledge to responsibly handle practical situations.
  • Ability to comprehend and respond to a variety of situations in an expedient manner.
  • May work independently so good judgment is essential.
Minimum Math ability usually associated with this classification:
  • Basic addition, subtraction, percentages, multiplication and divisions skills required.
Minimum Language ability usually associated with this classification:
  • Read and write: High School level.
  • Speak: Ability to be conversant in voice and diction so as to participate in discussions with associates, supervisors, and management both in person, via radio, and telephone.
Degree of Physical Demands (strength) usually associated with this classification:
  • Ability to exert force, lift, carry or otherwise move objects of at least 75lbs.
  • Ability to push, pull, and maneuver 200lbs. to 300lbs. with a dolly, hand truck, or wheeled cart.
  • Ability to stand, walk, hold and lift, possibly for extended periods of time while performing these functions in a continuous sequence for up to eight hours with one lunch break.

  • This position receives daily instruction from supervisory and/or management personnel which include communicating job functions, and giving instructions during training procedures.
  • It is necessary to be able to communicate in person, via radio, and telephone.
  • Talking-expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken words.
  • Hearing-perceiving nature by sounds by ear.
  • Reaching - extending the hands(s) and arm(s) in any direction.

Environmental Conditions (Physical Surroundings) usually associated with this classification:
  • Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions. Protection from weather conditions, while inside, but not necessarily from temperature changes. Outside conditions are any and all weather conditions including temperatures, precipitation, humidity, and other meteorological factors and fluctuations thereof.
Machines, Tools, Equipment, and Work Aids which may be representative, but not all inclusive, of those commonly associated with this type of work:
  • Trucks, scan devices, wheeled carts, dollies, utility knives, and hand trucks.
Safety and Precautionary Requirements:
  • Training on proper use of utility knives and safety goggles when disposing of cardboard, glass and wood.
  • Familiarity with location and usage of Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Be aware of and adhere to all safety procedures.
Emotional Demands:
  • Must possess sufficient emotional resilience to operate within a sometimes hectic environment
involving simultaneous priorities, rapid response situations, and generally chaotic situations The worker must therefore be even-tempered, cool minded, and exhibit a high threshold for frustration. Required Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of warehouse logistics and possess basic computer skills.
  • Able to push, pull, and lift heavy/large objects for extended periods of time.
Special Requirements:
  • Must be highly motivated and dependable; able to work in a fast paced environment, mindful of safety.
  • Ability to be certified in lift truck battery maintenance.
  • Ability to learn fabrics/leather characteristics for the application of protection.
  • Ability to be trained in cardboard bale removal.
Working conditions This job operates in a professional work environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as scanners, computers, photocopiers and smartphones. As well as dolly, hand trucks, baler, and lift truck. Physical requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary
