Primary Objective of PositionMaterial Handler watches a group of extruders, while monitoring the amount of material in the hoppers and stacking profiles on to the rack and/or basket. Also keep track of shipping tickets as far as the amount that was run on their shift and making sure the right order number is on the ticket and where it is being sent.Major Areas of Responsibility
- Trim and organize parts
- Mix compounds, order compounds and maintain the hoppers
- Complete labels for all parts
- Maintain extrusion lines with appropriate materials.
- Assemble boxes and package material
- Inspect profiles for defects
- Sort and fill grinder with usable scrap
- Confirm materials needing to be dried are in the driers at the appropriate time
- Assure the lengths of the lineal extrusions
- Support operators with the Epicor paperwork
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Utilize forklift; if approved and trained
- Assist in other departments as assigned, perform other duties as assigned
- Follow all Intek safety procedures and expectations
- All employee is expected to support the Intek Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with our Quality System Manual and Documented Procedure
QualificationsEducation/Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Skills
- Good organizational skills
- Effective reading, writing, and verbal communication
- Good mathematical skills
- Acceptable history of attendance and performance
- Must be able to read a tape measure
Responsibility for Work of OthersNo supervisory responsibilities. Physical Requirements
- Ability to regularly lift (weekly) up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift up to 60 pounds with assistance.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, twist and carry tools or materials over the course of 8 - 12 hour shift; while supporting 24-hour/5-day per week plant operations.
- Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
